Services
Patients are generally referred for Radiation Oncology evaluation by their medical oncologist, surgeon or personal physician. Self referrals are also accepted, and are often done for purposes of obtaining a second opinion. The process starts with a telephone interview with the Oncology Center office staff to obtain the necessary medical records and insurance information.
MRT involves varying (or modulating) the intensity of the radiation being used as the therapy for cancer. It is a new form of radiation therapy that uses computer-generated images to plan and then deliver more tightly focused radiation beams to cancerous tumors than is possible with conventional radiotherapy.
