More people have been treated with acupuncture than any other healing modality available today. Traditional Chinese Medicine is one of the oldest forms of medicine that is in practice today. It is common and natural to feel apprehension when first considering acupuncture treatment - after all, we are going to stick you with needles! What you may not be aware of is that those needles are incredibly thin and if you feel any discomfort at all it will feel like a slight pinch and only for a second or two.

We commonly treat patients with conditions treated unsuccessfully by traditional Western Medicine and, in fact, receive many referrals from local medical practitioners. Conditions such as hormonal imbalance, insomnia, anxiety/depression, low back pain, sciatica, arthritis, and infertility, to name a few, have been successfully treated through the use of acupuncture often combined with herbal remedies, exercise and dietary recommendations.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a complete medical system that has been used to diagnose, treat, and prevent illnesses for more than 2,000 years. TCM is based on a belief in yin and yang, defined as opposing energies, such as earth and heaven, winter and summer, and happiness and sadness. When yin and yang are in balance, you feel relaxed and energized.

I went to Dr. Kim Yoo starting in April 2015. Initially I went just for back pain, related to sciatica. She took my pulse, found some imbalances and suggested a plan of treatment. Initially I thought more highly of Dr. Yoo. My last visit was unsatisfactory, so I went to another acupuncturist. Found the subsequent treatments to be more thorough and better.

I've been going here on and off for the last 4-5 years. At first, I started coming because of some neck issues I was having. I could barely move my neck side to side. After my first visit, I couldn't believe it! My neck issues were gone. I still go about every three weeks or so just so my body doesn't build up a lot of toxins. Dr. Woo is extremely kind as well as the other staff. The waiting area and is clean and so are the rooms. One person said they were too small but they aren't! If you want to feel good, see Dr. Kim Yoo!

I had a very pleasant experience with Dr. Kim Yoo. My appointment was easy to schedule and on time. Dr. Yoo has a caring bedside manner. She was attentive to my health concerns. She told me what I should and should not eat when taking TCM medicine. This is my second month of TCM and I see the progress in my health. Dr. Kim Yoo is an amazing doctor.
I wish every doctor could be like her when it comes to helping the patient. If you are looking for a doctor who treats the whole person and the root of the problem then go to her. THANK YOU so much Dr. Kim Yoo

I'm new to KC and I've been spoiled by the community acupuncture options in Denver. I was scared that I wouldn't find a great replacement, and I really love acupuncture and think it's so beneficial. I found Dr. Yoo through a groupon originally and I've been really happy with my treatment. She is obviously very knowledgeable and knows just what to do for proper treatment.
My only complaint is that I wish they would allow just a little bit longer for treatment. I've usually been given 20 minutes before they come in to remove the needles, and I feel like 30 or 40 minutes would be ideal. Other than that, it's really great.

This place is amazing! I've been coming here for 8 or 9 years now, and have yet to see a more powerful treatment than Acupuncture. The past 3 1/2 years I've been in Los Angeles and only get to come in to see Dr. Yoo a few times a year when returning home. Being on the west coast I've seen other acupuncturists when needed and I can honestly say that Dr. Yoo is THE BEST.
She treats the whole person and looks at all aspects of your lifestyle, habits and emotions that could be affecting your health. Being treated here has been one of the most powerful things I've ever done, and it's affected my life in ways beyond any aches and pains or health complaints. Whenever anyone tells me of a problem they might be having with their health, Dr. Yoo is always the #1 recommendation I give. Definitely try this out, book a few sessions and see for yourself.

Dr. Yoo is exceptional at treating the "whole person." Her practice of Chinese Medicine is predominantly acupuncture, but she uses other modalities as well. This is definitely NOT like going to the "regular doctor." Her treatment is gentle, but refined. The Acupuncture Center is an excellent alternative to western medicine and I have even found it more effective in certain areas--namely pain management. Definitely worth at least ONE visit.

I started seeing Dr. David Yoo 8 months ago, mainly for help with chronic, debilitating migraines. Since that time, I have had only one migraine and my daily nuisance headaches are all but gone. Additionally, he has helped me reduce my stress level and worked on sports related injuries. Dr. Yoo is extremely professional and very accommodating!

My sister had seen Dr. Yoo for back pain years ago. In two sessions, he had identified the source of her pain (an old volleyball injury that occurred months before the pain started) and dramatically reduced it. I was skeptical, but after her recommendation, I decided to see him. I went in for post-partum depression. In one session, I felt like a new person. Dr. Yoo has a great bedside manner and is extremely good at his job. I felt completely cured within two sessions. I will be a life long customer.

The Acupuncture Center has helped me tremendously with multiple physical and emotional struggles. I have received acupuncture for shoulder pain, neck pain, depression, and even lethargy. One of the greatest benefits of Dr. Yoo is that she has always treated me, the whole person. Also, unlike other alternative clinics I have considered, the Acupuncture Center doesn't pressure patients to commit financially to a "treatment plan." Dr. Yoo has treated me in the past with just a few visits and she is genuinely excited if my current problem is resolved quickly.
Many chiropractor/acupuncture doctors require a lengthy commitment of "visits" which can be very costly and frustrating. If am relieved by the success of the treatment, I am not committed to attend or pay for visits I don't need. I strongly urge ANYONE who has never tried this modality for pain or stress to consult with Dr. Kim Yoo about your needs.
She is compassionate, knowledgeable, and pleasant.considering most doctors are not very personable. I am a registered nurse by trade and I would highly recommend the Acupuncture Center--especially if a medical doctor is advising you surgery is your only option. It's not. Your body IS capable of healing itself in many situations. You won't be disappointed.

I have been to two other acupuncture practices in the area over the last couple years for the same lower back problem. I made my appointment online, very easily. The office manager was very nice and friendly. I entered from the back of the building into the office building but that entrance is locked and they don't use it. They have an exterior entrance on the north west side of the building - use that.
The decor is serene and there is Zen/yoga music playing in the background. I was really impressed with how the consultation went - Dr Yoo listened to my issue and was patient as I explained all of my previous treatments. He asked questions and really took his time. He then explained a treatment plan for me. I decided to do my first treatment while there instead of scheduling out.
Before he started, he did a thorough ortho exam--he's a trained Chiropractor too but doesn't practice anymore. After so many years of pain, I didn't believe him when he said it would take 1 to 3 treatments only. But I think he's right. I woke up for the first time in 6 years without the pain. I'm going for another treatment to ensure complete therapy but I'm really impressed. Overall, you'll need to be patient.
I think he sees several patients at once which is the same experience I've had at two other acupuncturists. But he listens, is friendly and he knows what he's doing. The staff is friendly and I found the place to be clean and comfortable.

Pros: Free consultation is plus. Staff is friendly. Acupuncturist is good and professional and I was heard and he asked me not to pay when I complained about unnecessary long wait time. Cons: There can be better control on schedule/calender. For 1 hr acupuncture it took almost 3 hours. I was not able to handle rest of my day's schedule. Rooms are smaller and can be cleaner. Will go back if they excercise better time management.
