First appointment today to establish new primary care. My provider, Lee Townsend, was exceptional; very professional and thorough. Nurse was also exceptional. Been a long time since I have had the level of care from a family/primary cars provider and absolutely blessed to have made the decision to give Rocky Mount Family Medical Center an opportunity.

I have been coming here for 10 years or more but over the past couple of years I can't ever be seen when I am sick or when I have a problem. They are more for maintenance than anything now. I'm SUPER frustrated. I'm not getting the care I need because they have taken on too many patients. Also, this new lab is a joke! End of rant.

I love this place. Just phenomenal primary care! They treat their patients with such respect and really see the patient as a whole person. The whole staff is so kind, especially the nurses. I always feel so taken care of during my whole appt. They always take their time with me, and they actually listen (which can be rare at some doctors). I will never forget everything they did for me when I came in so nervous for my first appt.

And I am not exaggerating when I say that Lisa Genovese has changed my life and how I view going to the doctor. She is a treasure, and absolutely the best medical provider I have ever had in my entire life. I am forever grateful for her and the whole RMFMC staff.

RMFM has changed drastically, for the worse, since the new ownership. I went to my lab appointment to have blood drawn for an upcoming Dr appointment. Checked in at the front desk and again at the lab. Blood was drawn as normal. I received a confirmation email that I had completed my scheduled visit and a couple days later, they tell me I didn't keep my appointment and I need to contact the lab? Appears that they lost my blood samples. Very unprofessional. Debating if I need to start with a new provider after several years with RMFM. Real dissatisfied.

Do not recommend. Staff is not helpful at all. I got Covid and they refused to give me a follow up appoint after my quarantine period was over. Kept putting me on hold and transferring. Always have to wait past your appointment time and have to wait weeks or months to get an appointment. For a place who puts God and family first.they are full of it.

They have very long wait times even after having an appointment. Wait long in the waiting area but even longer in the private room. I would not recommend them for infant/ toddler care as the doctors do not seem as familiar with different issues impacting kids. Unfortunately this is the one of the only other places to take kids in the area if you don't want to use Boice Willis. Most of the doctors are pretty friendly but some they seem rushed when in the appointment that you just waited an hour plus for.

I have tried to get an appointment with Dr. McCleod for a DOT physical at BOTH of his locations, RMFMC and Eastern NC Drug Testing, but he never seems to have a time available. With 2 offices you would think I could be seen at some point! Time to go elsewhere.

My "first visit" with this clinic was with the provider, Julian McLeod PA, who came into the room and said to me, not a greeting, not an introduction, but "I'm sorry I seem rushed. It's because I am, because I have to pick someone up from the airport, and I'm running late." That is an EXACT quote. He had yet to even look me in the eye. This visit for me was to establish a primary doctor.

I left with none of my concerns "truly" addressed, and no provider established. NONE! I don't think he would even remember me if I went back TOMORROW! Will not be going back!

Poor customer service & poor business practice. Went here for a medical appointment following some at home health issues and we swiftly greeted by generous and kind workers. The nurse and blood workers were kind and made me feel at home amongst them and it was comforting. The bill wasn't bad at first and honestly wasn't that expensive without insurance so I was okay with paying it up front.

What I didn't see in the background was that the billing doesn't always line up with what the staff says. The nurse recommended a follow up visit which I was more than happy to attend but we ended up with her calling me instead because it was time friendly and wouldn't cost me anything. But what I didn't know was RMFM had billed me almost $200 for a 30 second phone call just to check on me which I took as good will and because I didn't give them a timely response they wouldn't budge on a bill I never agreed to.

I was told I would receive back my prepay once my insurance card came in and the billing wouldn't budge on that either after we spoke on it. Leaving me with not only the prepayment that would have been lowered but also a deceitful phone call visit that wasn't in good will at all. I don't recommend them to anyone who wants an honest transaction. The quality of work is very good but the honesty is less than what would expected.

I will no longer go to Rocky Mount Family Medical Center. I have two bad experiences with them. The last one was the straw that broke my back. I was having some discomfort and asked for a Dr.'s visit. I was told to go to the emergency room. I explained to the nurse that it was not that serious and I just wanted to see the Dr. After several minutes of arguing she finally transferred me to set up an appointment.

They did schedule me an appointment for later that day. An hour or two later I received a phone call from them saying I needed to go to the emergency room. I said I did not want to go and that I would be in later for my appointment. They told me that the doctor had cancelled my appointment and to go to the emergency room. I told her I would just find someone else and she said ok.

It feels like they don't care. I had an appointment already scheduled for next month and I called to cancel it. I told the person I wanted to cancel my appointment. She said ok, and never asked me if I wanted to reschedule or why I was cancelling. Very dissatisfied with this group.

I realize that timeliness is an issue at many doctors offices but time is something you can't get back and I feel like Family Medical of Rocky Mount waste a lot of my time. I rarely see a doctor. I usually see a PA. I remember when the doctor would stop in for at least 5 minutes but not anymore. I guess I really feel the machine of the health care system when I'm there.

Get in, get out, throw pills/medication at you, and leaving with no real solution to any of the problems I went in for. The people who work there are nice. But I didn't come for people to smile at me and be polite. I came for my health and those smiles aren't it. I'm definitely on the look out for something else, somewhere else. The doctors office is always a stress, but I don't want to leave the office feeling like what was the point?

My entire family goes to see several different providers at RMFMC! All of the nurses, receptionist, providers and lab staff are always friendly and smiling! We always get quick response and have been very pleased with our visits over the past year! We left other practices in the area because the providers weren't concerned about getting to the bottom of our problems and here our questions have always been answered!

Very disappointed. Despite reading bad reviews on google, I decided to give them a chance anyway. I only ended up regretting it in the end and won't be going back. The nurse that I had each time was never friendly. She also noted incorrect medication information in my chart, which had to be corrected. I'm assuming it was corrected anyway- that's what she told me.

My Dr. was okay at first, but she didn't seem to want to get to the bottom of anything. She wasn't very sympathetic about the concerns that I was having, nor did she take me seriously. This was extremely upsetting. I would recommend finding a different doctor's office, and take heed to reviews!
