Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center

Some strengths, some weaknesses. I don't like to post negative reviews, especially given how difficult it is to be a healthcare worker in this day and age. That said, be prepared to seriously advocate for yourself here, especially in regards to billing. :

I just called the billing department. Which they send me the copay bill from 2020 service. When I was there I paid cash before going inside. The representative I spoke with her Rossah she was racist. She was accusing me I am thief. She was rude and unprofessional. I told her your very rude and unprofessional. Can I talk with your manager. She transfer me to Spanish side.

This is the worst experience I ever had. Please don't give your business to business they don't care about patient. Please San Regional Hospital hire professionals stuff. I tried to reach the manager. They don't response as well. What kind of business is this? I will Never will visit this Hospital Anymore nor I will recommend them with someone else.

Abusive staff. They put an autistic teenager in full four point restraints because she was having panic attack about being in a hospital and was scared of needles. Staff brought in 4~ grown men to hold down a 90 pound girl. When the girl told staff that being held down and put in restraints by adult men was triggering her PTSD because she had been abused while being held down by grown men, staff laughed and mocked the girl. Will be reporting to higher up.

They charged me over $2,000 for our toddler being seen by a doctor who just basically said "you're fine, but come back if anything gets worse." Then for months, they wouldn't send the itemized bill sufficiently explaining the charges justifying the expense and then would never be available to talk about the bill and wouldn't help out at all with reducing the insane over-charging. This place needs to be sued.

I had a knee revision surgery for INFECTION which went ok, however the HELL started when I went upstairs to my room. - The floor's were dirty - Tray table had dried up food stuck on the side - The surgery site leaked all into the bed I informed the attending nurse but she didn't clean blood off leg or the surrounding surgery site. she just covered up the mess with another leg wrap, nor was I checked on, unless I rung the Call nurse button.

It (bandage)wasn't changed out until 9am the next mornin by the morning shift and they were Angeles! (Mercy & Maria). They had taken off that 1st bloody layer, cleaned area and secured my knee. Maria then stripped all nasty linen off of the bed and replaced it with fresh linen. Mercy gave me medicine and helped me into bed. The care and attention helped me to get out of FLIGHT MODE. thanks ladies

Staff members there are patient and friendly. However, as many existing reviews stated, billing definitely is on the crazy side. I was in ER for 3hours, after all the labs and blood draw, they couldn't figure out what went wrong, and asked me to follow up with a PCP? Now a month later I received a bill close to $20k, after insurance, $2k+ out of pocket. Please don't blame it on bay area pricing. Several years back, at a different bay area facility, a ER visit ended up with a 2-day hospital stay costed me less!

I would just like to commend the Emergency Room at SRMC. I was in the area on vacation and developed such severe abdominal pain and vomiting that I thought I might have apendicitis. I went to the hospital and the staff couldn't have been more professional, thorough and nice. Turns out it was just a severe IBS episode, but they went through a battery of tests to make sure it wasn't anything more serious.

I felt well taken care of, which I can't always claim in my home state of Texas. It's a little scary going to an unfamiliar hospital out of state, but I would recommend SRMC and Dr. Amanda Stephenson and the nurses and staff to anyone.

Update July 19-2021 Here are the charges for 1 night stay at this hospital! Entered as emergency based on doctor referral and was kept overnight for observation. 1 MRI, 6 blood tests and that's it! This is CRIMINAL: Total Charge$81,454.00 Special care unit$12,073.00 Laboratory services$10,370.00 Ekg services$1,347.00 Diagnostic/therapeutic imaging$44,988.00 Pharmacy$2,690.00 Physical medicine & rehab$439.00 Emergency room$9,547.00 And you ask why our health care system is failing? ----------------------------- This place is OLD and the facilities need updating badly.

This is a sign of corporate greed in NOT spending to keep the place up. I was particularly concerned with how DIRTY the rooms were. I've included photos. And this is what is visible, imagine what is not visible! Cobwebs around all windows and corners. Floors were disgusting and extremely sticky. Furniture broken and/or damaged. It seemed like a 4th world hospital room! However, in fairness, the staff (nurses and patient care team) were very professional and hard working.

I wish i could give them ZERO star. The worst experience in my 27 years of life with a medical provider. I'm literally baffled by the bill i received from this hospital. I slipped on the wet floor and my left shoulder was hurt. Immediately, my husband took me to emergency room around 2 am as i screamed in agony and they charged us 5738$ bucks just for my left shoulder X-Ray (2 Views).

The reports resulted strain on left trapezius muscle. Dr. Amanda Stephenson suggested me Lidoderm 5% patch, 1 Ibuprofen 600mg tablet, 1 Norco 325mg tablet for temporary pain relief. Dr. Amanda did showed up saying that it's a strain on muscle after making us wait for almost 2-2.5 hrs but with NO REPORTS. We knew there would be an obscene bill for going to ER but we had no idea just how shocking it would be! Could the bill really be that huge just for a 20 min visit and just for an X-ray and 2 tablets. I really got stuck with this whopping bill which cannot be affordable.

I was admitted for a secondary problem from my abdominal surgery. It was the worst care (if you can call it that) I have ever received in a medical facility. There was a very slow response to my call button if any or a voice would say my nurse would be called. My IV alarm went off for 30 minutes and was empty for 60 minutes before it was changed. I felt trapped by the Hospitalist who gave me no updates on my labs or my condition.

He wanted to keep me one more night but I would have left AMA if I was not discharged immediately. I will never go there or have a family member admitted there. I am still traumatized by my stay there.

We had our baby delivered here! Wonderful birthing center, the nursing staff here are AWESOME, everyone was loving and caring and available for anything my wife or I needed. Here you get one big private room, the same room for labor, delivery, and recovery (you don't have to move at all). There is a cot for the spouse to sleep in the room, good access to decent food and amenities.

We felt 100% taken care of throughout the entire process, one of the best experiences we've ever had with medical care. If we are lucky enough to have another child we'll definitely try to come here again!

IF YOU WANT TO DIE GO HERE! STAY AWAY My wife had a simple kidney stone and was admitted to hospital. After 2 days laying there there Urologist never showed. My wife laid there and kidney got infected and got a Hemoglobin bigger than her kidney. We took here out after the Urologist never showed. They were mad because took her AMA (against medical treatment!) There was no treatment except a regular hospital doctor and a lesbian APRN who was the worst!

Every time I asked her a question got pissed off and said you will have to ask Urology? There never was one! Anyway took to UF SHANDS and was in ICU for three weeks up there. 5 days later there Emergency Department called me to tell me she had an infection and wanted to call in a prescription! I thought this was a joke! Called CEO Linda and said will look into the situation and call me back?

Never called back! Nice Also her this past weekend the beginning of Nov 2018 I was told by a nurse that a 40 year old man went in for a allergic reaction and went into anaphylactic shock and they couldn't get airway in and he died. Also a 45 year old man fell off ladder and they didn't transfer him to Level 1 Trauma surgery center and he died also!

When we moved here 4 years ago everyone said stay away from Seven Rivers Hospital aka now as Bayfront. No change same terrible doctors and administration! Go there and you will die!
