The Health Quality Portability and Accountability Act (HPA) of 1996 established health standards to protect individuals from unreasonable searches for their personal healthcare information. This act also provided compensation to injured individuals for their losses. According to the HPA, health care information means the medical records of an individual which include detailed information about his or her health.
This record may include information on physical examination, diagnosis, treatment, medications, hospitalization, outpatient care, emergency, medical condition, disease, and genetic or family history.

Doctors cleanliness standards have been under the spotlight in recent times. After all, the average American has more than one doctor to visit for routine checkups. For some this can be a double edged sword, since even the best doctors are likely to miss something that could potentially lead to life threatening consequences.

Wow, I emphatically disagree with the past review which gave only one star. My many experiences with the nurses and physicians at Baystate Monson Medical have been nothing short of perfect. While it is, on occasion true that one does not get seen at their appointed time it is for the best of reasons. Unlike other clinics I have utilized where one is rushed in and out, the physicians at Monson take the time to address unexpected patient conditions and concerns. Furthermore, both nurses and physicians make sure to explain, in lay terms, their prognosis and recommendations. Personally, I gladly accept waiting a bit knowing that when needed, I will receive the extra attention that the patient being seen before me is receiving.
After all, my visits to the doctor are to maintain my health as best possible and extend my lifespan. Medicine and McDonalds may both begin with the letter "M", but if you want a 5 minute in and out may I suggest the latter and grabbing a Big Mac.
