Jessamine Christian Healthcare., was set up in 1999 through the vision of Dr. Thomas Coburn, our founding physician, with a desire to start a complete service medical facility that would supply exceptional medical care rooted in Biblical principles and Christian living. Here from Arizona and had to make a trip to the ER. It was Labor Day weekend but they got me in very quickly. All three of the nurses I came in contact with were very sweet and personable. The doctor was outstanding - very compassionate, and took extra time to talk with me about my condition and provide advice for my future care. In all, an excellent facility as far as medical care is concerned.
Since I was a long way from home, before I went to the ER I contacted my insurance provider and they told me that I would have to go to an ER as opposed to an urgent care and that would be the only way I would be covered. So, when I arrived at the front desk, I gave them my insurance information to verify that they would be able to treat me under my policy since I was from out of state.
They assured me that it would be ok. Several months later, I received a bill for $1500. As it turned out, the billing department didn't "want to" sign up as a provider under my policy. They are therefore billing me for the entire amount. Had I known they were going to flip on me like that, I could have gone to an urgent care and only owed $96. What was an excellent medical care experience has turned out to be a financial nightmare - and all because the billing department is not willing to do what it takes to collect from my insurance. That's just wrong.

Mary and Robyn in the ER department are amazing nurses! Our friends were in a horrible motorcycle accident and brought to the ER. These two ladies treated our friends and us so well. They are the definition of true nurses. They truly care about their patients. Mary went above and beyond. She is one of the most genuine people we have met. We were so touched by her compassion.
We will never be able to repay her for her kindness. From the bottom of our hearts thank you Mary and Robyn for taking such amazing care of our friends. You made an unexpected and heartbreaking day easier to face. We appreciate you so much for being the nurses you are. You ladies deserve a raise!

Being that my family and I live in Johnson County we often attend our local healthcare center for all types of things! We've had excellent OB, primary, and ER care through this facility over the last 5 years and have yet to have a poor experience! So thankful our community is blessed with such an amazing faculty and facility!

Most Americans are forced to deal with a health care system in the US that is broken beyond repair. It's especially challenging to find competent professional health care in rural areas. As a retired health care professional, I expect to work as a partner with my health care providers and have done so with my doctors at Johnson County Healthcare Center for 25 years.
When Dr. Larry Kirven retired from practice, I was panic stricken about finding a new doctor who would work with me as a partner, not a dictator. Dr. Ryan Ludwig accepted the challenge and is a remarkably talented doctor, along with all his partners at JCHC. It's not often you find one, let alone two doctors in a rural facility who trained at the Mayo Clinic (Dr. Ruby, general surgeon trained there as well).
The staff is top notch and the care is second to none. This clinic and hospital doesn't try to be all things for all people. They understand what rural medicine should be, and what it shouldn't try to be. I consider this clinic and hospital by far the best place I've ever received primary health care in Wyoming.

I found myself needing an emergency room in the middle of the night while camping in Ten Sleep, WY. Both the night nurse and the physician's assistant were amazing. They were very friendly and diligent. I have a number of weird allergies and the PA researched every possible drug she could give me to find one that I could take. She was very understanding and openly discussed my options with me. When I drove into a small town in the middle of the night, I didn't know what to expect, but I was definitely impressed.
