My husband saw Dr. Magdon. We waited a month for an appointment and he was very much in a hurry during the appointment. Didn't explain anything. He didn't even look at his discs we brought of his spine. He just threw some prescriptions at him and called it a day. We went to a Chiropractor instead and she took the time to go over the CD's and show him exactly the issues and explained in detail.

This office is BUSY! Prepare to search for a parking spot & wait in line to check in. I mention these 2 things because, hello, it's an orthopedic office. Folks have messed up bits. That being said, it's run like a well oiled machine. I was in/out as a new patient in 30 minutes, including X-rays. The receptionist area is well organized chaos. Lots of hustle.
Happy assistants in the back. Suggestion: have patients enter info online. Having us print, complete and bring with us feels like 1995. They have this cool thing nowadays- electronic signatures. It's a thing, I swear!

Kelly is the best. Kind, knowledgeable, awesome. Explains, explains and explains, and this isn't the norm especially for the elderly as my father is. Not a ridiculous wait time as other specialty medical facilities. Everyone was friendly and respected the needs of my father. I was a patient there before and would go back if I needed to!

From the time you check in until the time you check out everyone is so prepared and upbeat and the docs are top of the line. These people truly care. That's a hard find. Love the PT group too. They are very specific with exercises for each body part and help you do them right. I had chronic health issues and I'm getting my life back.

Worst office ever, the staff is rude and it's all a money grab. I asked for my previous script that I received a few months prior in order to use it at their office for physical therapy and they told me that I have to get relooked at by the doctor. I have the same symptoms nothing changed. Again I'm sure they got a lot of people by doing this. This isn't clean business practice.
It's a dirty way to get people who don't know any better won't stand out for themselves to pay more money out of their pocket to get the same diagnosis. Specifically Dr. Magdin and the office manager. Don't bully people into getting a simple piece of paper, to see a physical therapist.

Wanted me to come in again after I lost my script from the doctor to go to a physical therapist. Plain money grab, after I gave them a piece of my mind they stated that the doctor could resend the a script. They didn't even consult with the physician. They made that call at the front desk. The scheduling manager hung up in my face after waiting for 20 mins. Worst practice ever.
Get a staff that cares about your clients. Extremely rude and pretentious person. Most practices have a way to reach the doctor when something so basic happens. They won't provide an email or anything. Very hard to get through to your physician for a follow up. The staff needs to understand that people have lives to live. I can drop my work and kids just to show up for 2hrs just to have the same script written. I have already went out of my way prior with scheduling and baby sitting.

I thought the staff was very professional, attentive and nice. I was called back immediately, Dr. Kelly can right in. I felt like she honestly cared about how to take care of my injury, addressed all my issues, gave me advise as well as alternatives! I do recommend them and plan to continue going there

I've had an ongoing knee issue for some time now and it's been a tough process. Blue Ridge has made the process much easier because of their great customer service and their communication is great as well. My doctor Kelly is very helpful and was willing to thoroughly explain my MRI results and the best way to move forward with my issue. I super appreciated this and their team for their customer service :

Blue Ridge Orthopaedic & Spine Center was highly recommended by several friends as well as my PCP. I have been having issues with my lower lumbar and had sought the help of both a chiropractor (a couple of times a week) and my PCP. Unfortunately, I wasn't given a specific diagnosis, just told rest and to pop some pills because they thought it was muscular.
Over a month later, after not being able to take the pain anymore, I asked for a referral to an Orthopedic doctor and was sent to Blue Ridge. I saw Kelley Schimler, P.A.-C in the Gainesville practice and could NOT have been happier to find someone with a fantastic sense of humor and was willing to fix me! She quickly ordered an X-Ray, immediately diagnosed that I had Degenerative Disc Disease and prescribed me a course of treatment right away. It was fantastic! Staff in the Gainesville office were all very nice! I highly recommend seeing Blue Ridge right away for your orthopedic needs!

What an amazing experience! The front office staff was cheerful and inviting. The wait time was minimal. The nurse and xray techs were personable and very pleasant. The PA was AMAZING! I felt like I was discussing my health issue with a wise long time friend. Very down to earth, knowledgeable and easy to talk with about the issue. Gainesville will be my new go to for all ortho needs even though I have to drive a bit further.

Where do I start. The BEST employees I have worked with bar none! The staff was absolutely wonderful! The front desk safe check in, appt scheduling and helpfulness was on point. My therapist Vivian was remarkable. She is knowledgeable of all aspects of her job with any hand and wrist injuries you come in with. She was patient and comfortably demanding when she knew I was slacking in my recovery only wanting the best for me. I highly recommend Blueridge Orthopaedic and Recovery Center to all needing that next step after surgery or just prescribed PT.

I love my knees. I am an extremely mobile person. So getting surgery was a very big decision. Dr. Smith is great. I've had both knees worked on by him and they are both now good to go. He cares tremendously about your recovery and quality of life. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and laid back. Kinda makes me wish I had a third knee for them to work on! Well.not really, but everyone is very cool. I've already recommended them to friends.

Unbelievable. Have dealt with two different departments here in the last month due to two separate, yet related injuries over the last 3 months. This is lengthy, but have dealt with 3 different doctors here, all of whom I consider incompetent. While the front desk staff is pleasant, they seem to have problems keeping their appointments straight.had me scheduled for two that were never made.
My experience is with the "Pain Management" and "Podiatry" physicians. Drs. Kim and Heller are both smug, arrogant, indifferent to the patient's pain, and do NOT listen, they prefer to talk. Even my Primary Care Physician diagnosed the problem as a herniated disc with a pinched nerve. Kim told me I needed an X-ray. I had already had an MRI, which he was unaware of (yet I was told I needed prior to the appointment).
He left the room and came back a few minutes later having apparently found it but spent NO time looking at it and did NOT discuss it or any treatment plan with me. Was given a local injection in my lower back (did absolutely nothing). Over the next few weeks I called repeatedly, in extreme pain, and many oral anti-inflammatory drugs were prescribed, none of which worked. Kim never called me and asked any questions, just kept sending prescriptions to the pharmacist. An epidural was scheduled.they only do epidurals on their schedule, two days a week and if they are booked, you wait your turn, regardless of pain level.
According to a neurosurgeon I later saw, he apparently missed the area as there was absolutely NO pain relief. I asked to see his colleague, Heller, who was very defensive.not a good sign in a competent doctor. Rather than discuss my options and why I hadn't received any pain relief, he asked about my foot and why I thought the two problems were related.it was what the PA there told me and was later confirmed by two other doctors in different practices.
He too wanted to perform another epidural, but he was not available for almost 3 weeks. I was still in extreme pain and essentially could not move my back. I canceled all further appointments with these two and sought (and received) competent care in Fairfax. Now, the podiatrist.the pinched nerve caused me to drag my right leg which led to a fall and 3 toes broken in multiple places.
First saw a PA the day after the fall, she X-rayed and put it in a splint. It was prior to Memorial Day weekend and was told Dr. Kats was not available until Wed. of the following week. When I finally saw him, he stated surgery and pins were necessary but that he was not available for surgery for two more weeks. Day of surgery arrives and Kats is ONE AND ONE HALF HOURS LATE. That's right, I was in pre-op waiting for an hour and a half and the staff was probably even angrier than I.
No reason given and a half-hearted "sorry" was all I ever got. Long story short, pins removed yesterday (surgery 5 weeks ago) he claims nothing has fused or mended, he said they are all still broken and my foot is completely twisted. He claims I had a bunion on my big toe and that is why it is so distended. That toe wasn't broken. I never had a bunion, no pain, and the distention occurred when the fractures did, but was not addressed. Does not appear that I can ever wear a normal shoe on that foot again and 6 weeks post-surgery I am still in pain.
I realize that my pinched nerve prevented me from babying my broken toes like I should have, but I used the air-cast and crutches religiously. If I had never gone to Blue Ridge Orthopedics, I might be pain-free and walking again.

This was my first visit to B.R.O. as it was recommended by a co-worker. I had a great experience from walking in the door to walking out. The front office staff are friendly and efficient, nursing staff as well. I saw Dr R. Smith and he reviewed my x-ray with me and was able to treat me on the fly. My knee injection was was quick and painless and his diagnosis was on point because my symptoms began to alleviate within a few days. I would not hesitate to visit this practice again. Highly recommended.

After a horrible experience at Mary Washington in Fredericksburg I was finally able to see my regular orthopedic doctor, Dr Smith. The staff was friendly, very professional and did a great job to assure everyone's safety. Dr Smith was kind, caring and spent thin with me to address my issue. What a pleasant experience and a relief knowing I'm in good care. I have been a patient here for over 10 years and they never disappoint.

I was referred to Blue Ridge Orthopedic by several Virginia Retina Center patients and heard about the wonderful care and outcomes after their surgeries. I've met with Dr. Seal, Dr. Heller, Dr. Brown, OR team and Jackie (& team) at the physical therapy floor. They've all been friendly, kind, professional and knowledgeable. I will also give this practice a thumbs-up because from the moment I scheduled my first appointment on phone, checked in & out of the clinic, ALL staff (reception to check out desk) were very professional and their customer/patient service is phenomenal! I appreciate the high standard of care the staff provides patients. Thank you for an awesome job.

I love this practice! I have been a patient for over 13 years. Dr Kim is one of the best doctors I have ever met along my "spine" journey since my car accident in college. He has always listened to me and doesn't make me jump through hoops to prove what he knows I am dealing with. He has treated my lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine. He even helped me find a pain specialist in California when I was there for a few years! As an obgyn/labor and delivery nurse myself when my patients have issues, this is the only place I recommend. The staff, nurses and doctors are awesome!

Easily the worst doctors office I've ever been to. Their pain management people are equally as incompetent. I would rather die than to have one of their doctors cut on me again. The best advice is don't use them just because they are local. Make the drive to a place with knowledgeable doctors who genuinely care for their patients.

I am seeing Dr. Smith for trochanter bursitis. Not only is he professional but friendly, he is quick to respond to questions i leave on website. He doesn't depend on physician assistants to run you through the Mill and require unnecessary tests. His treatment is spot on and i feel 40 instead of 70. I went from crippled to playing soccer with the grand kids. Their facilities are excellent. I have to drive 40 minutes each way to see him. But so worth it.

EXTREMELY disappointed in Dr. Seal and Dr. Heller at Blue Ridge Orthopedic. Dr. Seal specifically told me one thing when I went in for my first visit, and then would not follow through with the paperwork. He did nothing for my condition and couldn't even tell me what was wrong by looking at my xrays. He had to refer me to physical therapy for the therapist to diagnose me.
I have been visiting the PT Andrew for 6 weeks now. I have had a terrific experience with the physical therapy department, however, I will unfortunately not be returning due to the extreme unprofessionalism and unethical practices in the other offices there. I went in for a nerve block with Dr. Heller who proceeded to treat a part of my spine that did NOT have any pain.
I asked him, when I was walking out of the procedure room, why he didn't do the nerve block in my SI joint (the ENTIRE reason I have been going to the Doctors there), he indicated that he thought that the medial branch is where the pain was referring from. Immediately after this procedure, he told me that if that nerve block didn't work, he would move the injection to my SI joint next time.
The day before my next nerve block appointment, I get a call from Jackie to confirm my appointment, so I decided to ask about the location of the block. Thank goodness I asked, she indicated that it was the same location as the first time and it couldn't be changed without me coming in to pay for another visit. Mind you, I basically have to pay for all of this out of pocket due to my insurance coverage.
She also indicated that my chart had NOTHING mentioned about pain in my SI joint. WHATTTT? Dr. Heller gave me a pain (cortisone?) in my SI joint initially when I saw him the first time. When I showed him where the pain was, he told me that it was my SI Joint. My Fiance was in the room the entire visit and heard every word that was spoken. Also, the 6 weeks with Physical Therapy in the SAME OFFICE, was working on my SI joint.
I wasn't allowed to speak with Dr. Heller about this issue, nor was I allowed to leave a message for him. Jackie called me back and told me that the Doctor said there wasn't anything he could do unless I came in for ANOTHER appointment! Absolutely NOT! I will NEVER be seeing any one from this practice again, and I will also take time out of my busy life to deter everyone I know from going there.
This is the worst customer service and the most unethical treatment I have ever heard of. Who has that much disposable income to go to the Doctor over and over again, because the Doctor didn't feel it necessary to add the main complaint to my chart? I left a review on their website as well a few weeks ago, however upon looking today, someone has removed the 1 star review and explanation I had left.
Not sure how well reviews work when the business has the ability to delete poor comments. I will be filing a formal complaint about this incident, and I will be posting this complaint to as many places as possible to warn prospective customers/patients.

Without doubt this is the worst imaginable doctors office. When calling the Gainesville location listed on the website, they made my appointment at the Warrenton location and didn't bother to tell me which location they had booked my appointment in. When I arrived at the Warrenton location (late) after being turned away at the Gainesville location, an extremely rude woman told me it was my fault and that I should have specified which location I preferred. Complete waste of time. I don't even use Yelp and downloaded it today just to give this honest feedback. Unbelievable.

The Dr's are FANTASTIC. The receptionist who answers the phones is a MONSTER. She has ZERO personality. She is rude and curt. They had a bad, crackly phone connection today (tried from both a landline and cell). Called back hoping for a better connection and let her know there might be something wrong with their phones. She literally did not say ONE SINGLE WORD in response to that and just cold transferred me to where I needed. Nothing. Robots are actually friendlier. Been a patient there for years but I HATE calling there because I have to go through her. A shame. Your receptionist is your "face" to the public. She should be the friendliest of ALL your staff.

I have been a patient with Dr. Kim for almost 2 years now. In this 2 years I turned 26 and lost my insurance and had to pause my treatment because I fell off of my parents insurance and had to get my own. When I returned Dr. Kim and I had a conversation regarding what medications I had been on through my primary care physician during the period of time that I was not able to afford to see Dr. Kim.
The next day I receive a phone call from his office stating that they must refuse car to me because of the medications that I was prescribed while out of his care. So this leads me to believe that not only did he not properly prep his charts ahead of time to know what medications I am currently on but he also refused to pay a single bit of attention to the conversation that we had while I was in his office.
I have been in the ER 3 times in the last 10 days due to sever pain. Dr. Kim has burned my nerves in the past to try and help with the pain. Now I am forced to start the process with another ortho specialist. When I went to his office to confront him as to why he was just now finding out what medications I was on he refused to come out of his office.
He hid behind a locked door. Not only will he not come out of his office to explain why he neglected to review my chart before I came into his office, he will not explain why he couldn't just change whatever medications he did not agree with me being on. He is a coward and just after the insurance money. If he cannot preform a procedure on you to make the most money off of you he will refuse your care.
In this instance he is lucky because he prescribed me a muscle relaxer while I was there, had that muscle relaxer had a bad effect with the other medications that I was currently on and I had ended up with a worse result or back in the hospital I would be pressing charges on his practice. I will still be researching what charges can be pressed for neglect of a patient while in his care for him carelessly prescribing medications without first reviewing current medications.
I would not return to his office if it was life or death and would not recommend anyone else turn to Dr. Kim or anyone else in his practice for help. I kept returning to this practice because I trusted Dr. Kim and his ability to continue to try and fix what no doctor has been able to before. Beware and stay away!

Although the staff and Dr. Wise are nice and he took the time to explain my spine issue and surgery he was going to do. The hospital he has to use is not In Network with my insurance. So before you schedule 2 appointments and are ready to schedule surgery make sure that Fauquier Hospital is in your health insurance Network.

I would just like to say how incredibly thank I am for not Blue Ridge Ortho but also Dr. Kats. Last winter I had to have surgery on my foot due to some movement of my bones and Dr. Kats and his staff took such great care of me and also continue to take good care of me! I am healing perfectly and couldn't be any anymore grateful! I most defiantly recommend Blue Ridge!

Dr Daniel Heller seems to be more concerned with addiction that might happen than he is about pain that is happening. He has treated me as if I'm a doctor shopping addict rather than a post spinal fusion veteran, parent, home owner, business owner. He tried to convince me to allow him to insert a spinal stimulator inside of me saying that a once or twice annual steroid injection was not good for my body.
He recommended physical therapy then didn't write a referral. He ordered an MRI on my lumbar spine as opposed to the site of the pain, my si joints. He seems clueless and has a poor bedside manner. I'm at the mercy of the Veterans Administration at the moment but once this current battle with pain has ended, I'll find a different doctor for the next time it comes back. The staff at Blue Ridge is incredible. Dr Heller should be selling cars.

Dr. Kats is amazing. He goes out of his way for each and every patient. One afternoon, he was running late due to surgery which of course made him run behind with his office patients and not once did he make me feel rushed. Since the first time I saw him, he has given me all options possible and tried non surgical methods for as long as he could. He's friendly, thorough, extremely knowledgable and has a fabulous beside manner.
I only wish I could have had him as my doctor for my past ankle surgeries. I'd recommend him to anyone! His office staff are also exceptional including but not limited to Britton, the front desk staff and all of the surgical suite employees. I think my anesthesiologist's name was Dr. Taylor and she calmed my nerves as well as answered all my questions. I can't say enough good things about this practice as a whole. Thank you for the excellent care!

In reading some of the other reviews I was surprised to see only 2 Stars, especially since there are much better ones on Facebook and BROSC. I was treated for a broken arm. Dr. Smith opted for me to allow it to heal on its own (new bone and calcium growth totally repaired it). and all on the doctors' side of the practice (Nurses, P.A. and Dr. Smith) were very professional, prompt in handling all in-office visits and took their time in explaining everything involved in my over 3 month healing process before sending me to the other side of the practice -- PT and Rehab, where the staff and team(s) were just as attentive, focused on steps to ensure I regained full use of that arm, and professional, too. I'd highly recommend this specialty medical practice to anyone in need of Orthopaedic services.

I am a 1 year cancer survivor and have severe post chemo neuropathy. I was being treated by one of their pain management drs that was recommend by my oncologist. My treatment plan was shots, which I could not afford, and medication percocet/Lyrica and was still in pain, I talked with the dr a couple of times about adjusting my meds because I was still in a lot pain and this was to no avail. Considering he really only spent literally 3 minutes with me and then runs out of the examining room to his computer and sends his nurse back in I really don't have time to tell him anything, when i would go to my appt.
I felt very stressed and i felt like I was doing something wrong making me feel like I was a criminal trying to get drugs. i would bring in my medicine to prove I was taking it and not selling, he would actually count it. I talked to the dr many times about my concerns on addiction and was not fond of taking percocet but I took it to have a quality of life.
I get a phone call from an office employee who I have never met saying I was being discharged for noncompliance for the 2nd time and she did not want me to be blindsided. The office employee told me I was not returning his nurses calls which I had and they had record of. They are saying that vicodin came back in my urine and that he did not prescribe me that and I am being discharge. Wow, really I am not sure where that came from I will have to check my medicine cabinet to make sure I was not taking some old prescribed medication by accident.
I have never been treated so uncompassionately by a dr that was to suppose to help me manage my pain. Obviously, if I'm still in pain he must not be doing a very good job, so maybe I should have dismissed him a long time ago, my mistake.

Who's gonna pay for my treatment? "which insurance" MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY. Even before they look for available appointment time, they ask for insurance info. When you walk into their office a sign that says "cancellation less than 24hours of the appointment time will result in $50 fee" I am sure they provide quality service and care but can we just be a little less blunt about $$$$?
