I can't say enough about how amazing Dr. Golden is! He saved my husbands life three years ago! Recap, a few years prior in his hometown his stomach had ruptured, didn't heal. required another immediate surgery, wound vac, months out of work, and addiction to the pain medication. Fast forward, 2018 Marty had just moved to Owensboro, previously completed long term treatment center in Paducah, two years of sobriety, was trying to get his only daughter back in his life, and here he was again so sick not being able to keep anything down, and the tests showing another major surgery being his only chance! But, God sent us Dr.
Golden this time! I'll never forget the day he came in Marty's hospital room, explained the magnitude of the ulcers, and this surgery even more major, his stomach was totally closed off. Large reoccurring ulcers that required resectioning and making a whole new opening. I asked where I needed to try and get him, Vanderbilt, Louisville? His reply was 'I feel confident doing this surgery, you pray for me and I'll pray for him' and that's just what we did. Dr.
Golden did an amazing job! Marty was so adamant about no narcotics right up until going into the operating room that Dr. Golden said 'I've got them on stand by but we are going to do lidocaine pouches on both sides of the stomach and I'm going to let him try. This surgery went so much different then the two previous ones. It was a tough couple of weeks for Marty, but within a couple of days he left the hospital not addicted to pain medication like before, he had stitches and staples but his incision was totally closed up, he didn't have a wound vac like before and he was back to drywalling within a few weeks.
Prayer and Dr. Golden saved his life! We will forever be grateful for such a wonderful surgeon and Godly man. Marty is going on 6 years of sobriety and continues to see Dr. Golden at Kings Medical Health in Madison, Indiana. Madison I hope you know. Owensboro's finest is now right there in your town, from his calming bedside manner, love for his wife and children, his compassion to all of his patients, to his God driven expertise, Dr. Matthew Golden is an amazing surgeon and a blessing to everyone in his path. I've had multiple billing issues with this hospital. Appointments that were supposed to be fully covered by my insurance billed incorrectly, then after being told it was resolved, finding the account in collections on my credit report. It's impossible to get anyone on the phone to get more information because it's either a busy signal or "the system is down, call back later."

This was my first time delivering in L&D at KDH. My OB was Dr. Roney and I was so happy to have an OB who I highly respected. She was understanding and took every measure possible to make sure our baby was healthy and made it to her due date. I was very nervous about "not" delivering with my original OB with how the on call system works here at KDH.
I have never experienced this and always delivered with my original OB in the past. I went into Labor at 38 weeks and of course my doctor was not the one on call that night. I delivered with Dr. Shirley and medical student. My Nurse Ashley and her assisting nurse were absolutely amazing. Ashley took every measure to make sure I was as comfortable as possible through contractions.
I was able to deliver naturally without an epidural and she did everything possible to help me through every contraction. Our nurse Carrie did great with our Daughter And she even called to follow up to make sure things were going well at home. Dr. Shirley and her Student were amazing during delivery and I was very thankful for them making us feel so comfortable with this being only the second time I had met her and our first time delivering at KDH. I will recommend and have the utmost respect for KDH's L&D Staff as they did the same for myself and family! Thanks Again for all you do. Jessica

Deleted my previous comment because I wanted more information on why my daughter didn't get the care she deserved when I took her in, I've gotten none. DO NOT take your children to this ER with an emergency, take them to Norton's in Louisville. My unresponsive daughter sat in the waiting room and our car waiting to be seen for almost 2 hours. When she got in finally she was somewhat responsive, and register 102.4 temp, when I took her in it was 104.5.
It was 11PM when I brought her in, I checked ourselves out at almost 4am after spending maybe 5 minutes total with hospital staff. They ran minimal tests on my daughter and I took her to urgent care the next morning where I ordered a UTI test for her, the UTI came back positive and she was treated appropriately because I basically diagnosed her issue. Every bad review on here is because of the ER and I hope they fix this issue before it costs someone their life, and hopefully not their child's.

Had my disc removed about two months ago through Dr. McKinley from the orthopedic department, and it was the best thing to ever happen to my life, he was very thorough prior to surgery when analyzing the X-rays and attempted to examine what he could before coming to the conclusion that removing the disc would be the best option. After being fully healed my life is officially back on track, no nerve issues and I finally was able to get back to work without worrying about being in pain all day! During my recovery post surgery, the nurses were very attentive and super kind! 10/10 would recommend

Went in for an endoscopy to determine the necessity of needing a surgical procedure and everyone was over the top nice and willing to do whatever to make the process smooth and as comfortable as possible. I've been in many different facilities and this one was by far the best. I will be having surgery very soon with them and I'm confident it will be a good experience just like this one. I travel about 2 hours one way to use this facility and doctor but it has shown to be well worth the drive.

The absolute slowest ER I have ever seen. Would not recommend if you have ANY other option. If you don't, I hope they decide you're actually an emergency. My daughter having congestion, vomiting, and a fever didn't count as one. There was another child in the waiting room at the same time who had a head laceration that was still actively bleeding and started vomiting as well.
He didn't get taken back until his caregiver went off on them for not taking it seriously. We hoped the delays were due to being short staffed but we were told they were fully staffed, they were just overwhelmed. Once we were in a room for over an hour, a nurse brought a popsicle for my little. Another hour later, with no more interaction with us from staff, she was exhausted and just wanted to go home. So home we are and we'll be going to an urgent care or a different hospital instead from now on. Save your time, stress, and money. Go elsewhere.
