Mid-Carolina Obstetrics and Gynecology are adept in offering an one-stop shop and comprehensive testing. I am highly impressed with their time management, patient resources, and prompt examinations. I completed a mammogram, lab work, pap smear and consultation. I had the esteemed pleasure of experiencing Dr. Tucker who has the best bedside manner and an equally meticulous exam.
I learned things in minutes that I was not taught in my lifetime with previous physicians. The stars aligned today and I am grateful for the experience. I have secured my new OBGYN office :.

Dr. Inge did a great job talking me through me through my birth control options as a childless 30 year old with no plans on birthing my own children. He respected my rights to my own body and agreed to remove my tubes. I am forever grateful to have found a doctor who was willing to do this. My main dr. Amy Gilbert has Always been supportive of my choice to be childless and always always always take the time to listen to me.
As a person who is child free by choice going to the gyno has always been uncomfortable for me as previous doctors have told me I will change my mind, or that my future husband be upset (ew). Amy has never talked to me this way and I never feel like a less important patient just because I won't be having a child (which has happened at other practices).
Even when I came in already defensive she (and other staff) have assured me that it's my choice and they will honor that. I have moved around a lot in my life and she is the best Obgyn I have ever seen. I can tell she cares about her work. I hate leaving bad reviews especially when the main reasons why I go to a place is great. But I only gave three stars because The front desk staff have always been rude and cause a lot of unneeded stress.
At my last appointment One was talking openly without a mask on about how she doesn't believe masks work with a Client. I almost walked out and cancelled my appointment because at the time my newborn niece was in the NICU. It's unfortunate to see so many other reviews mention how awful the office staff seem to be when this practice has so many amazing medical staff (the nurses and lab techs have always been cheery and positive!) I've thought many times about finding a new obgyn just to be treated better but I can't leave Amy because she's that good. So give Amy a raise or a nice bonus because she is doing some great work.

My Doctor of 20+ years retired so I made an appointment with Amy Gilbert and to my surprise she was very thorough and sensitive to where I am right now in my health journey. There was a young lady in the lab department that was just a little ray of sunshine and very attentive to me and how I was feeling. All around one of the best experiences I have had with this practice in quite a while, and I'll leave it there.

I saw Dr. Groff and came in for a consultation as I was nervous about an upcoming colposcopy procedure. The entire appointment felt extremely rushed and the over all feel from the entire staff was that it was solely a business and they didn't need to try to form a connection with the patient. Several of my communications with the front desk were pretty unprofessional.
I asked to speak with Dr. Groff (also would have settled for a nurse) and was met with the equivalent of "you can ask when you get here". I was also asked what they should be billing my appointment as (specialist or other). I'm pretty sure it's not my job to know that and it *seems* like a good way to get people's money and put the blame on the customer.
Perhaps some people like a very to the point visit, but it was not for me and I wouldn't recommend this practice to anyone who wants more than 5 minutes of time spent with them or have any issue with anxiety.

This was my first visit to the office, as I recently moved here from another state. The office staff was friendly, and efficient. I had to leave for an emergancy without warning and figured I would have to call later to finish up my lab work and mammogram. To my surprise they arranged for me to return the same day and were able to squeeze me in right before closing! 5 stars from me.

Strongly recommend looking elsewhere for prenatal care. The prenatal nurse was wonderful when I went in for my 6 week appointment and that's where it ended. I was charged 800$ each appointment even though my insurance covered 100% of prenatal costs--mid carolina wanted payment towards my deductible upfront before the birth which other places did not request.
I ended up getting most of the money back when I left the practice. Most of the doctors here were so rushed it was so impersonal. The dr who did my first ultrasound clearly had no care that it was first time seeing my baby and barely let me and my husband look on the monitor for a second. Then, at my 20 week scan, they wouldn't let my husband come to the room with me to hear the results and find out if baby was healthy.
Everything was fine, but had it not been fine, I would have been alone. They let him come in for the actual scan, but then sent him out for the results. They also didn't let him come to any of the other drs appointments and this being my first baby, I wanted support. They rudely asked him to leave the waiting room and made him wait in the call.because of overly weird covid theatrics. Anyway, I switched providers and am much happier at wakemed. The only thing this place cares about is money.
