I have really no complaints about my experiences at Parkwest. I went in 6/3 for the birth of my newest addition and had great care from the beginning. I did not expect anything less as it was the same in 2020 when I delivered my last child. Angie and Maleah were my main RNs and both made sure I was extremely comfortable at all times and handled my baby with love and care.

You can tell both ladies truly love what they do. Angie was truly the best support I could have asked for in my delivery and during recovery. I hope their hard work and dedication is recognized, they deserve it.

My mom, a metastatic breast cancer patient, waited 7 hours without being cared for in the ER. Cancer patients are supposed to get ahead in a case by case basis with all the other patients. The nurses refused to use her port when testing, which they aren't supposed to do. you can't stick a needle in someone's arm and expect to get something when you've vomited 8 times- not even given water or ice chips- and are very dehydrated. that's what the port is for, and the nurses are NOT supposed to do that. other patients tried harder to care for her than the staff- going up to the counter and trying to get her ahead, because she was writhing on the floor in pain and uncontrollably vomiting from chemo symptoms. i had to pick her back up after 7 hours- which they forced me to leave after two even though i needed to be there with her- without seeing a doctor. she would have had to wait an innumerable amount of hours until she could finally see a doctor. no hospital should do this. i never want to take her here again.

Worst hospital in Knoxville. My father died because of this hospital. They let him sit in his own urine for hours. He never had water or ice when we went in. He received the worst care possible. He only had Medicare so I guess they didn't want to treat him. They released him fully knowing he had a GI bleed. He ended up having a severe stoke when he got to Fort Sanders rehab center.

The doctor said he came in to see my dad when my sister was there and didn't. We never spoke with any doctor there until my sister called and complained. Then he called her. Which by the way is Medicare fraud. I felt so sad for the other patients there that didn't have family visiting. This place killed my dad. This was so unethical for a hospital. I will say Fort Sanders was great and all the nurses were so pleasant. Be Aware this could happen to your family member.

First, let me say that I am a retired RN with over 45 years experience behind me and I am not an easy person to satisfy. My experience at Parkwest Medical Center was just short of perfect. The ER staff, in hospital staff and outpatient cardiology staff were all excellent! They listened to me, kept me well informed, and delivered well informed care and intervention.

Everyone of the physicians and nurses were competent and professional. I highly recommend this facility for cardiac care. The only slight negative was the waiting time in the ER which would most likely be in any ER.

They have taken such wonderful care of my mom. She has been here on and off several times. We have had excellent care each time. Even take good care of my dad staying with her. I can't give enough thanks for the nurses, doctors and staff. The only hospital I use for my family if I can help it. I am forever grateful for the love and compassion.

This review is from an employee standpoint and not a patient's but it definitely plays a role in the care you will receive. I worked there several years ago and it was a decent facility, probably one of the better hospitals in the area to work at. Fast forward to now and it seems like it has become a totally different facility. I know someone who is currently there and they never have adequate staffing and are frequently put in unsafe situations.

They just keep piling patients on nurses with no regard for their ability to care for them. They solely care about filling a bed and making a buck. If you're a nurse thinking about taking a job there I would look elsewhere and I would definitely think twice before leaving my loved one there. After travel nursing for several years and coming back home it's clear that Tennessee is home to some of the worst working conditions for nurses in the US.

I've read reviews on most of the hospitals (Parkwest included) and for the life of me I can't understand why people leave bad/undesirable reviews. If you don't have anything good to say don't say a word. The Parkwest Staff are extremely accommodating, knowledgeable and caring. I had the BEST of care. My Surgeon Dr. Sershone is the BEST and the whole staff from the time I walked in until the time I left were ALL spot on and absolutely wonderful. In closing, BE NICE EVERYONE.and if you don't like where your at pull out your IV and hit the door.

I have visited the ER in Parkwest Medical Center 3 times in the past month for a 5mm kidney stone that should have been passable but isn't. The first 2 visits they made me comfortable, did a CT and sent me home with meds. The 3rd made the decision to do surgery. I have never had to have surgery for a stone this small so it's a shock to me but evidently it's just stuck.

All 3 visits were great, they took great care of me, listened to everything and advise me on what I needed to do. I was admitted for one night for surgery that didn't happen because of an infection caused by the stone that needs to clear up first. Everyone I came in to contact with was very nice and understanding. They treated me with compassion. I really appreciate everything they have done for me and if I need to go to the ER again for another stone I will definitely pick Parkwest.

Worst hospital experience I've ever had. Took my husband to the ER at 11:30 to be checked for excessive vomiting and by 5 am when his throat was completely raw from it they still hadn't done anything. The woman working the main entrance seemed very apathetic to everyone's issues including the other 2 individuals brought into the ER in wheelchairs covered in blood and choking on their own vomit. I understand staffing issues due to Covid but this experience was completely unacceptable behavior on her part.

Absolutely terrible place, how can I hospital be so bad? I never leave bad reviews but I can't not with Park West. I had a loved one who was possibly dying and was in CCU and I was the only person they wanted to see, but depending on who the nurse was was our basis on if I was allowed to visit. There was only one nurse that would allow us visits (if I called at the right time), the others would say no and be a complete a**hole on the phone.

A HOSPITAL should not have 2.8 stars. It should have nothing short of 5. Please go somewhere else if you have an emergency. Consider this a WARNING not a review. Side Note: On top of them not letting me visit my wife, the one family member she specifically requested NOT to be let in the room, the nurses let in the room anyway. Even when she left CCU the nurses were still only letting in who THEY wanted to let in, not the patient. Once again this is a big WARNING, stay away from Park West.
