I was nervous when I had gone to the center. The nurse realizing I was alone offered to stay with me which made me less nervous and they cared. Little did I know it was just that one nurse. After I had surgery I had some complications which were ignored and not attended to in a proper manner. I felt more like a number than a person. There was no interest in follow up communication even though they were made aware how serious things had gotten.

I had a wonderful first time experience today. I'm under 40 so I was terrified walking in but everyone on staff was so sweet and explanatory. The staff was communicative the entire time and kept us posted on wait time along the way. They were swamped but compassionate. I'm only giving this a 4/5 because when I received my welcome packet it listed two appointments with "15 mins" per Appt respectively at 8am and 8:15am.
I've been here for 3 hours now so that was quite off and I had to arrange for additional childcare during that time mid-appointment. I'm only writing this review to bring it to light and perhaps welcome packets can be adjusted to maintain realistic expectations and allow for childcare arrangements ahead of time. Since this was a referral I had no idea how long to expect other than what was written in their published welcome kit.
I am completely and totally understanding of how Covid has increased wait times, I just wish I could have planned better coming in the first time. Again, wonderful experience otherwise.

Absolutely the worst horrible experience that I have EVER had at this facility. I scheduled my appointment for November, this past month. They called me only a few days before and said that my appointment needed to be rescheduled. and the only available time was on 12/22. two days before Christmas. So I take the appointment. get up at 4:30am CST because it's an hour and a half drive. arrive early to my appointment. and have now been sitting here for TWO HOURS waiting.
And only for an ultrasound. not even the standard mammogram. And that's not counting the wait in the waiting room. I'm currently sitting "in que". watching women who checked in after me get called back, one after another. I will NEVER BE BACK.

My first experience at KCBC was wonderful this week. I participated in their new FDA study for non compression imaging which no one else can do in the area. The staff were curteous and kind, the wait was longer as to be expected and everyone was following Covid protocols. The equipment they use allows their Doctors to detect cancers and other things that were not visable on my previous mammogram last year at another facility.
I will definitely be returning to the place with the best equipment and feel much more confident in their ability at early detection. I would recommend to others and hope the study allows for non compression screening next year.

I took my elderly mother in for her annual mammogram. She is also visually impaired so I have to fill out her paperwork for her. It's a challenge to get her in & out of places because she has to use a walker and sometimes a wheelchair. The young woman that took us into her cubicle to go over mom's information and to get the necessary signatures was rude, disrespectful, condescending, and unprofessional.
I called her out on her extremely poor behavior. She ended up apologizing and went out of her way to be helpful after that. I still have no idea what that was all about to begin with though. Then mom's mammogram tech, Leantra, ended up being very rude to me. Thankfully she was nice to my mom. I don't know what that was about either unless she was mad because I called out her co-worker on her behavior.
I don't know what was going on there but this isn't the only time this has happened over the years I've been going there. I've decided I won't be going back. They certainly aren't the only mammogram facility around.

I was there just over 3 hours for a mammogram. Sat in 3 different full waiting rooms with many frustrated women. The staff was great although it was obvious they must have been short on Radiologists - which kept everyone waiting far too long! It's a great place that needs to be properly staffed with Docs! Otherwise it makes it harder for staff AND patients.
The staff did a great job trying to smooth over but it wasn't enough. Hopefully they will be able to correct in the very near future! I felt really sorry for the women who had been there as long and much longer than me! Not acceptable!

I had some abnormal results at another facility and wanted to get a second opinion. This place was absolutely wonderful. They really took their time to make sure they were thorough and looked at all of my prior tests to make sure we made the best decision of how to proceed. They performed a biopsy there in the office that same day, and I can't say enough about how well they treated me.
The staff were all very informative and made sure I was as comfortable as possible. They tailored the visit to MY needs, and I could really tell the difference. From now on, I will be going to Knoxville Comprehensive Breast Center for all my annual mammograms.

Due to my family history, I go here yearly for my screenings. This year I had to have a biopsy which KCBC did same day. The front desk and the technicians all did a great job in my opinion. This year because of the pandemic and the fact that I work in the public sector I already knew that the wait time would be longer due to social distancing. The waiting area has multiple chairs turned for non use to facilitate social distancing as well as sanitizer and signs that say wear masks and that wait times are long due to Covid.
I applaud you for the communication. I think it is best to arrive on time despite the wait because if your late your not registered as there and being early is unwise due to Covid and extended waiting. The pros are you get same day results from the best imaging options, equipment and physicians, and the cons are you wait for it and then you wait some more.
Since this is so important to me but not an IMMEDIATE medical emergency I would say the wait is worth it. You could wait 3 to 5 hours in a hospital emergency room for something immediately life threatening also. I appreciate the fact that there are so many women like I who need to know results regardless of the pandemic and I applaud the workers at KCBC and want them to know they are ESSENTIAL to me.
Thank you so much and I am sorry the wait times are such an inconvenience to both your staff and the patients but there are definitely those of us who WILL be patient, be thankful and will be back each year. For those of you that feel that waiting 2 to 3 hours is too long, go somewhere else that has older technology and has a cut off on patients, days or even weeks for results and will reschedule you over and over to do different procedures.
