Serving the greater Fort Wayne area since 1990 The options that you face in an attempt to cope with the deeply individual challenge posed by emotional and behavioral problems in yourself or your loved ones can be overwhelming. Often people suffer in silence for a long time before seeking aid because psychiatric problems can be hard to explain to others, and somewhat embarrassing to consider even with people close to you.

Their intake forms don't mark your progress, so you have to call to figure out if you need to finish others. Then asked me to get records from a previous psych before they could schedule an appointment. Then I had to call 3-4 separate days, multiple times a day. Finally 3 weeks after the first call, they say they can't see me because I have a history of medication and wasn't specifically recommended to them. AWFUL organization, AWFUL communication, and their response to telling me they can't make me an appointment after nearly a month of back and forth is "try the walk in clinic". Find someone who takes your health more seriously and avoid getting the runaround from these people.

I was recommended to Doctor Rustagi by my therapist after having a poor experience at another facility. Reading these reviews prior to my initial appointment, I was extremely apprehensive owing to the Doctor's reputation for being direct and rumors that I had heard about the customer service of this facility. But I needed help, I WANTED help, and as I discovered continuing to receive treatment from this institution, these rumors are completely false.
Doctor Rustagi is direct, but necessarily so, and not in the manner that he has an unearned reputation for: Aside from the thorough intake appointment, follow-up appointments are short (which is an industry standard) and he needs to make sure he gets all the information he needs to make necessary adjustments and to render the most effective medical advice / make appropriate diagnoses.
I can see how this might turn some people off, but at the end of the day it works, you just have to be honest, open to receiving the help that you came for, and commit to the often long journey intrinsic to dealing with mental illnesses and maladies.

Fantastic! Dr. Rustagi is direct and pragmatic. At first he may seem cavalier but he is not. I've warmed to him over the last 2 years and recommend him to anyone that is having issues. He nailed my diagnosis, with my meds I was feeling great within a few weeks. I always look forward to my wellness visits. He is always very attentive. I've had issues with dosage and finally became allergic to one of my meds.
When I explained the situation to his staff he offered to give me a same day after hours appointment. He stayed at his office 90 minutes after he should have been home with his own family seeing urgent patients. We switched meds and I'm back on track. Could not recommend Dr. Rustagi more.

I haven't seen the doctor myself, a family member does. And they say they are good. Very much recommend. But I waited on the waiting room and could everything thing that was said. I myself would not like people in the waiting room hearing my conversation with the dr. The doors are closed and you can still hear conversations.

I'm current going to a facility as part of Parkview Physicians Group and as of the end of this month, they will no longer be in-network with Anthem. I filled out a new patient application explaining why I'm looking for a new provider. Dr. Rustagi followed up via email and said, "I'm a bit puzzled by your statement that [they] will no longer be taking anthem starting next month.
That is odd because that is one of the main insurances they take and it constitutes a substantial chunk of their practice. Something does not sound right about it. Who told you that they will no longer be taking anthem?" Um, how many times has this negotiation issue been in The Journal Gazette this year? I told him my employer informed me and I sent him a link to the Parkview Health website page that is dedicated to the Anthem negotiations.
He actually told me verbatim, "Parkview and Anthem have gone through this process previously also. Very likely they will come to some kind of a settlement. It may be best for you to get a couple of months refills from your present provider. We would be happy to see you but there is no point in starting with a new physician for a temporary issue." This man actually turned away my business and refused to believe me even after I told him how I came to know that this situation is indeed factual. No way in heck will I be visiting his facility if this is the way he treats potential new patients.

I enjoyed going to Dr. Rustagi. He wasnt friendly, but he took the time to understand what I was dealing with and I felt his diagnosis and medicine prescribed worked. I left his office due to his staff. When I missed and appointment I was told I couldn't reschedule. I was not informed that all I needed to do was pay a fee for missing my appointment.
I also had one of his front desk personnel shut there glass in my face as if I was a bother checking in. I personally have never been treated so rudely by staff I just couldn't bring myself to go back into his office.

I've been seeing Dr rustagi for 10 years I look for 30 before I found him he is turned out to be a true lifesaver he was there for me in the beginning anytime I needed in all I had to do is call him and yes it did take several medications for us to find out the right one for me and as some of the rest of you put he's very understanding very patient but the man is very blunt and they don't pull any punches that's what I like about him he's the best one I've ever seen and if anything ever happened to where I couldn't see him I would be totally lost he's a very good man very professional very kind good staff not a long wait and Dr rustagi is a smart man I think the rest of these people that have left negative comments just didn't like it because he is direct and straight to the point and willing to help anybody if they had a bad experience then there's probably something Dr rustagi picked up on that just didn't settle with him.
He's never been rude telling me he's been there for me for everything at night early mornings he's a good man and he's very good at his job I would highly recommend him to anybody he has excellent insight!

I have been going to Dr. Rustagi since I was around 8 or 9 years old. I had gone to many doctors before him and no one could help me. I had horrible panic attacks and couldn't even go to a store or restaurant. My life has completely turned around since we started going to Dr. Rustagi. He does say it like it is, but I do too so that's one of the things I like about him! Once you get used to his personality, he's fine. He is very smart and really knows his stuff!

I've been seeing Dr. Rustagi for years. He is THE BEST! He listens to you to fully understand what's going on before prescribing any meds. He is always cautious with me, and orders tests whenever it is even remotely necessary. He is polite, and caring. I don't know what I'll ever do when he retires! Long live the DOC!

Dr. Rustagi is hands down the best psychiatrist I've ever been to. From my first appointment with him all the way to now, he's been kind, respectful and incredibly helpful. He treats me like I'm a human being, which seems to be rare when it comes to mental health. I've never waited more than 10-15 minutes at his office. And in an emergency, I've been able to get same-day appointments, which was a life saver for me. I'd highly recommend him to anyone who's looking for a great psychiatrist in Fort Wayne.

He seems a little "blunt" during his visits with you, but he is very cordial and friendly. He is very efficient at what he does and really understands his patients. He is an extremely intelligent man. This doctor was very helpful to me and to be able to say I trust him means a great deal. Glad I found him.
