If you love what you do for a living, you never have to work a day in your life. That's how it is for Philip D. Campbell, M.D. He loves the science of performing refractive surgery, but he also has a deep appreciation for his patients: the people of East Tennessee. As a Knoxville native, Dr. Campbell finds it particularly fulfilling to care for his neighbors, especially when they share their life's stories, allowing doctor and patient to develop closer bonds of friendship and trust.Interest in the lives of his patients comes quite naturally to Dr. Campbell-he's simply following in the footsteps of his father.
Dr. Tobin Taylor has been doing a lot of good over the past 14 years-as an Ophthalmologist with Drs. Campbell, Cunningham, Taylor and Haun. Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Taylor specializes in Cataract and Anterior Segment Microsurgery; Glaucoma and Diabetic Eye Disease Management; Medical Retina; Eyelid Plastic and Lacrimal Surgery; and Neuro-Ophthalmology. Today he uses his practice to improve the lives of his patients, but he actually began serving the needs of others at a very early age.

Went to them for a second opinion after my optometrist noticed a possible problem that needed a specialist to diagnose. The other opthamologist, who my optometrist referred me to, was not thorough at all and my gut said get a second opinion. I am very glad I did and very glad I did with Dr. Taylor here. He saw the issue and diagnosed me and did not just brush it off. Reasonable wait time as well.

First of all, they advertise that they are open on days that they actually are not. Mondays in particular. Secondly, no one ever answers their after hours answering service. I waited over 10 minutes before hanging up. That bring said, the doctors and staff are outstanding, especially Dr. Everett. It is just aggravating having to deal with the miscommunication of trying to contact the office during times that they are SUPPOSED to be open.

I called this morning at 8:00 am to cancel an appointment for tomorrow. It's the holidays and I am out of town with barely any cell service, so I did not get the reminder call until Friday and I was not aware that the Fountain City office was closed today. I gave the person I spoke to all my information which will be sent to the office in the morning. Then, I received the text reminder.
I called back to confirm that the appt. was noted to be cancelled and spoke to the most rude, incompetent boy named "Johnny" who practically called me a liar and hung up on me! I told him that I called and gave information to the guy this morning and wanted to confirm that the information will be forwarded. He stated that there was no message noted and kept repeating "am I noting your information, am I noting your information!?!" I'm not sure if he was asking a question or making a statement. He should be looking for another job!

Everyone in this doctors office is kind, patient, and super helpful. I was there helping my brother with two cataract surgeries, follow ups, etc. My husband is going through the same thing at another group of doctors and I was struck by the HUGE difference in the way we were treated! I was actually horrified and am encouraging him to switch! Couldn't recommend them any more highly. My brother can finally drive again and with great vision! :

I somewhat recently relocated to Knoxville, the week before the COVID outbreak (of course I did not know). I knew had a severe case of Uveitis, I had been diagnosed in 2016 but it was getting worse. I did some research on the internet and Drs. Campbell, Cunningham, Taylor & Haun. I made an appt with Dr. Haun. My vision by this point had become very bad.
I had been told by another Doctor that I was legally blind in my left eye and my right eye was getting worse every month. I knew nothing about Uveitis until I was diagnosed with it. When I was diagnosed with it back in 2016, in Georgia, I was diagnosed with a steady dose of drops, one which was methylprednisolone drops (steroids), which caused the cataracts which resulted in my vision loss, I had to take these every time when I had a flare-up of Uveitis, which was often.
By the time I saw Dr. Haun, in 2020, my vision was awful, I had stopped driving at night for months and did not stray far from my home even during the day. I just recently finished surgery on both my eyes by Dr Haun. Honestly, I fell like a miracle has happened! Now my vision is almost perfect but I did not realize how this disease has affected the colors in my eyes, everything was so clear and vibrant!
There is no way I can thank Dr. Haun and the other Doctors I saw and the staff for what they did. I do not write reviews like this very often but this one I was glad to write and btw, no one from his office asked me to do so. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Haun and his co-workers/staff. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Darren Jordan

Compelled to tell my experience. 1st visited in 2019, eyes were fine, in 2020, told I had cataracts and needed surgery. I was curious why cataracts weren't mentioned in 2019 but went ahead with cataract surgery. I was offered what I was told "better replacement lens", had some measurement to my eyes and paid an additional $600/eye. Just found out I have the standard mono focal lens, CC&T staff told me when I called about this, I only got an enhanced measurement, not a better lens. So, floaters are 10 worse than before surgery, I see large brown/ yellow spots on white surfaces, my night vision is shot, I see "halos" on headlights, making driving at night dangerous.
My right eye has persistent pain and my vision is worse than before surgery. Astigmatism was not corrected, as I was told it had been. I've been back several times to have these issues resolved. Finally sought treatment elsewhere All in all, I can state that I wish I had not had this surgery done. Do not recommend this eye care center. They've forgotten what the word "care" means.

I will never set foot back in this office. For 12 days my vision has been off. I have had symptoms of dizziness, eye strain, severe eye fatigue, light sensitivity, etc. After seeing a doctor at the Fountain City location I was told that I needed to get in with Dr. Taylor ASAP. I went for my appointment today and was literally left speechless with how rude, disrespectful, and condescending Dr. Taylor was to me and my mom.
I have never been treated the way he treated me today, by anyone. He told me that i was making things up and was blowing everything out of proportion and that I was crazy. I left with no answers. I left with no plan of care. It was a complete waste of time and money. I left the office in tears. I don't know how he ever has any returning patients.

Dr. Haun did my cataract surgery 2 years ago. After consulting with several others who had it, I chose standard lenses with varying focal lengths. I have been very pleased with the outcome. My vision isn't perfect, but its good enough that I do not have to wear glasses. Such a relief. Recently, I visited Dr. Haun on another issue which may have been related to eye problems. It wasn't, but I found him to be very knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommended.
