The well woman exam is an important time to discuss your contraceptive needs, planning of a pregnancy, sexual concerns, sexually transmitted diseases, vaginal discharge or discomfort, menopausal symptoms, or other concerns. The relationship between you and your doctor is an important one. To get the best care, be prepared for your health care visit, know your medical and surgical history, including an accurate medication list and communicate any concerns you have with your doctor.Do not be afraid to ask questions or speak up about your concerns.
Call us to schedule your first appointment at 617-566-1535! Your first appointment is scheduled about one month after your missed period, when you are around 8 weeks pregnant. If you have irregular periods or are not sure of your last period, we will schedule an ultrasound to help determine your due date.
The techniques we use for laser hair removal will eliminate hair and the chances of re-growth by neutralizing a large portion of hair follicles with the intense heat. Light energy is emitted from a laser source that turns to heat as it gets absorbed by a darkly pigmented target, commonly hair. This principle is called "photothermolysis."
Whether your appointment is for a pregnancy, wellness visit, problem visit, or a second opinion, we strive to accommodate new patients as soon as possible. New pregnancy appointments with your doctor, as well as an ultrasound, are made when you are 8 weeks pregnant. An ultrasound is performed for accurate dating and for your reassurance.

Dr. Croopnick is one of the best doctors I've ever had. Always patient and understanding, is calm, nonjudgmental, and meets me where I am. The staff and other doctors are amazing as well, and have always been available, kind, and empathetic. Even when it's not a fun situation, I always leave feeling understood, and knowing they've done their best for me.

I have been going to this office for several years now and I have never had a bad experience. The entire staff, admin, nurses and doctors are all lovely and very attentive to your needs. Dr. Croopnick is incredible at what she does and always makes me feel comfortable and listened to. I am really happy to have found them.

The front desk is completely useless. I called them to confirm my existing appointment and learnt that they messed up that which happened to me there before. When I was trying to solve the issue with Jenny, she did not help me at all. She just remained silent. I assume the doctors are really great but I was not able to test that assumption due to repeated mistakes made by front desk.

I have had nothing but positive experiences at Boston OBGYN. I have never had a more competent and compassionate doctor (Jackie Croopnick); she listens and I can tell she genuinely loves what she does. I am a new FTM and had my child in the middle of a pandemic - but you would never have known this - the entire staff, from admins to the nurses to the doctors have made me feel supported, prepared & safe despite the challenges of the pandemic.
I was well cared for and could not be more grateful that I found such a well rounded practice. Mimi Yum delivered my son and I feel lucky that there is more than one fantastic OB on the staff. She was outstanding as well. Very happy with their standards of care at Boston OBGYN.

Everyone was always very nice and professional. Dr. Lafornara was great! She was always very friendly and helpful if I needed anything. I had a few issues come up during my pregnancy and I always felt like she listened and took it seriously even if it was something fairly common during pregnancy. I had to call the on call line a few times, they always called back very quickly.
Once I had a horrible, embarrassing issue and the on call doctor prescribed something but when I saw Dr. Lafornara a few days later she took it much more seriously and referred me to a specialist instead of being like yeah, just keep doing what you're doing.

I have been going to Boston OBGYN for many years and have had a really great experience both prior to children and now with my second on the way! Dr. Croopnick is amazing and having a high risk pregnancy the staff is always SO helpful in helping coordinate my many appointments during pregnancy- I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a new OB.

I had Dr Carbajal, she and the people that work there were all super nice and knowledgeable. Went out of their way to help with my anxiety. Fixed my birth control. Didn't dismiss any of my concerns and took me seriously. I trust their professional opinion and won't go anywhere else. Appointments are quick, dr was gentle, staff accommodating.

Worst healthcare experience of my entire life. Dr. Carbajal wanted to diagnose me on the spot without running any tests and make drastic changes to my birth control. I did not consent to said changes because I had no diagnosis and wanted to take the time to process my options and think about the best route for me and my needs. Weeks later I get billed for an IUD removal.
I told her in the office that I did not want anything removed and wanted time to think about my options and to wait for a diagnosis before I made any drastic changes. Due to the nature of the appoint she very well could have removed the device without my knowledge. So when I got a bill saying it was removed I assume worst case she actually illegally removed this device from my body and didn't tell me.
It took me DAYS to reach her on the phone. The staff I talked to continuously sent me to voicemail or billing or anything to avoid talking with me or even letting me speak with a doctor. No one understood the gravity of the situation. Women on the phone dismissed my fears. Told me I was wrong to think the device was out. I was told "oh you would know honey".
You do not know me do not tell me what I would or would not know about my body during my appointment. If my bill says my device is out, why would I assume its in? I never felt so ignored and dismissed in my life. Finally, days later and many many outgoing calls later, I spoke with the doctor. She told me she 100% charted that she took it out so she assured me its out.
When I told her NO I did not want to do anything that day. She would not accommodate me and let me come into the office to check to see if it was there or not. No apology. No accommodation. No nothing. This was the worst healthcare experience of my life. It lasted weeks because no one would talk to me or help me. I WAS respected and accommodated by Planned Parenthood.
Where I found out I did have a device. Boston OB has not taken back the charges of things that did not do. They have no plan to do so. They never apologized to me. I am out hundreds of dollars from a procedure I did not want. A procedure I did not have. A procedure that has caused me much stress and frustration. This was not healthcare.

Came here for a medical abortion and was seen by Dr. Nippita. Wait times were kind of long but she was super nice, very informative. Never felt judged for my decision (thank you Massachusetts). Came back for a follow-up and IUD placement and was seen by Dr. Blake and the attending physician. They were slightly less organized and she was a resident so I''m not sure how confident she was. But also very informative, I really appreciated them letting me know what to expect with cramps and pain. Was relative quick. Thank you team!
