Founded in 1994, the Carolina Center for Integrative Medicine assists patients eighteen years old or greater to regain their health and maintain good health throughout their lives. Our approach includes proactive self care, scientifically-based complementary therapies and preventative medicine. We believe that the best medicine involves the careful integration of conventional, complementary and alternative therapies and that this approach will lead to safer, more affordable and more effective healthcare.

When used in the right combination, these therapies can be extremely effective against many chronic health conditions and can help you establish the highest level of health and wellness.
The Carolina Center, led by integrative doctor John C. Pittman, is committed to assisting our patients in regaining their health and maintaining good health throughout their lives. The Carolina Center embraces a number of detoxification strategies that can be incorporated into one's lifestyle. Various nutritional and herbal supplements, in conjunction with specific dietary strategies (juicing and/or modified fasts), can be very effective in purging the body of toxins that have accumulated over the years.
In 2011 we recognized the need to implement an orientation procedure for our new patients in order to provide important information prior to the initial visit. As this process evolved, it also became clear that these sessions would be of value to our established patients as well as prospective patients who wish to know about our practice.
Led by John C. Pittman, M.D., a Raleigh integrative doctor with a second location in Wilmington, we strive to address underlying causes and to change the unique biochemical conditions that drive many diseases forward. Everyone has unique needs at the nutritional, biochemical, and psycho-emotional levels.
