If I could give Stericycle zero starts I would. I wanted to cancel my contract, after being with them for the required 3 years, due to unprofessional and scamming tactics (still charging us for medical waste when we were in a mandatory shut down due to COVID for months, producing NO medical waste). I waited several months months to finish the contract, and when I called they said it automatically renewed (without any warning that it was about to renew), and was told I could not cancel.
If I cancel I would be charged 50% of the remaining contract, another 3 years worth. I decided I had enough working with this terrible company and customer service that I would lose the money and cancel anyway. I have three emails stating I wanted to cancel, and got no response. It took a phone call to them and a stern message saying we wanted to cancel.
We got confirmation via email that we were canceling, and I just got notification that they charged my credit card for yet another month of service. I found another company that does not require contracts and they charge less than half of what Stericycle charges. If you have a choice, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I have never written a one star review and feel so strongly I need to warn others. Now I have to fight with them yet again since they clearly did not cancel my service and are still charging us.

I dont like doing these online reviews because (being in business myself) I know how people can be unfair and spiteful. In fact, this is the only time I have ever done one My problem with Stericycle has to do with their inconsistency with their own pick up service scheduling. I broke with the last company I was using because THEY failed to stick to schedule.
And THIS company is no different. Their customer service was not helpful and they wouldnt let me out of contract without penalty even though THEY fail to come through on their end. They didnt stick to their schedule. The driver who did come on Mar 16th told me he would return on May 4th. No show. Called Stericycle and the automted system said May 9th.
No show. I called customer service and they told me the 18th so Im waiting on that but in the meantime I'm being billed $210.00 (?!) Im only allowing 2 stars because the pick up driver who DID show up for my ONE and only pick up was a very mellow and helpful guy.

This company is horrible. Every site they have no more than 1 star. They mess up and never return a call or email. They send other businesses invoices with no regard to how they can mess up everything by doing that. They basically sent a second company's invoice mixed in with mine. So I accidentally paid the wrong invoice. But once it was discovered what happened instead of saying they would adjust the account they basically REFUSED. SOOOOOO they are taking my money which was $330.00 paying the other account and not mine.
I am in Texas and the other company New York. They made no offer to correct the issue. It's like well too bad you paid it wrong it's your fault we won't help you. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office. The BBB and now any site I can review them. I have never seen a company with 30/30 just 1 star review. Many would have given a 0 because their service is so BAD.
The CEO needs to know how they treat people. Next step will be a certified letter to their home office and CEO. This is shameful I have never seen this. But I will not just take it. I will keep speaking until they do the right thing!

Criminals act with more integrity. As has been documented in other posts, their m.o. is to lock you into absurdly long contracts with absurdly high fees. When we were told in 2018 that the already egregious fee would soon double we sought to terminate the contract and were told we would have to "pay off" the entire remaining contract, or face collections.
The next day we get a call from "the good cop" at the company who wants to "work with us".offering a reduced fee for a longer term. He tells us he will issue an "addendum" which will expire in 2021. Now that 2021 has arrived, and we wish to leave - having received written quotes from other vendors for less than 1/10th the price- we are now told the contract automatically renewed for another 5 years (dating from the original 2020 termination date.) The official company response is that the original contract supersedes any addendum. Again, we are threatened c collections if we do not pay for the full contract period.
It is a scheme designed so that you can never leave them. Hopefully, you will never get involved with them. If you do, make sure all correspondence is written and "certified mail." CLASS ACTION ATTORNEYS ARE WELCOMED

Do NOT do business with this company. The type of business they're running is nothing but a bait and switch. They told me I was going to be paying just $17 a month for sharps pick up service which I thought was reasonable at the time. What they didn't tell me was that they were going to tack on a bunch of bogus "overage charges" to my pick ups because I hadn't put my two one gallon containers, and two pint sized containers into a bin.
So they charged me for each container separately. This added hundreds of dollars to each pick up! And mind you my business is a small acupuncture clinic. We don't generate very much waste at all. The driver is supposed to offer the bin container when he arrives. But I didn't know this and he didn't offer. I'm not naive enough to think this was some type of accident. They did this over and over again. This is FRAUD and THEFT. SHAME on you Stericycle for your criminal dishonesty.

Our current medical/dental waste provider has been unsatisfactory. The office manager was going to change to Stericycycle. Thank goodness I heard that we were changing before it happened. In another practice of ours we used Stericycle and had a horrible experience. There contract is akin to being locked in jail and throwing the key away. Please believe all of the negative reviews you read. At the point of perhaps losing any credibility now, I am certain that any favorable response was one paid for. If there was less than one star I would give it.

I have the same story as many other poor soles dealing with Stericycle. I was unwittingly locked into a contact. They charged me "liquidated Damages" to get out of the contract early. Somewhere in the fine print, they are allowed to raise their charges, in my case the fee increased 294% over a 4 years period of time. I never agreed to the increases.
I signed the contract one time, that was in 2011. In my view this company should be avoided. A few months ago the American Dental Association News published a column alerting dentists to complaints that they received regarding Stericycle.

I have been using stericycle since 2002 (over 10 years). They started to charge by weight even though my bin was half empty so a started to check 4 competitors in the area. I have been paying 4 times the rate of the highest of the 4. I called stericycle to complain. They said that it is too bad. I am locked in a contract for 5 years and there is now way to get out unless I paid them 11,000 for them to drop the contract. Apparently my contract auto renewed for 5 years in the fine print that was signed years ago. Stay away from this company. Go elsewhere.

Stericycle is the worst- most predatory corporation in the United States- Google Stericycle and see what they are doing to their 400,000 small customers- they have two class actions and probably more on the way- they increased our contractual rate by over 100%- they employ slick phone marketers to threaten co hearse the un- suspecting customers existing and new. They will not let up- their revenue is through the roof due to these predatory practices on unsuspecting small customers. Do not use Stericycle!
