We are sometimes referred to as the electricians of the heart. We treat all types of heart rhythm disorders: hearts that beat slowly, quickly or erratically. We evaluate patients with palpitations to help diagnose the etiology of palpitations and then cure the underlying problem. In addition to palpitations, shortness of breath, fatigue, anxiety, dizziness (syncope) are some other manifestations of arrhythmia. Common arrhythmias that we deal with are atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) and ventricular tachycardia (VT).
Services
We specialize in cardiac rhythm management. We regulate the heart to help patients' live long and enjoyable lives. Located in beautiful Boca Raton, the physicians at Cardiac Arrhythmia Service have been in practice for over twenty years. Our team consists of 3 highly trained board certified cardiac electrophysiologists.
For slow heart rates, sometimes medication adjustments may help the situation but often a pacemaker is required, which is inserted by us. The pacemaker does not allow the heart to go too slow and records any other arrhythmia. It does not stop fast arrhythmias from occurring. In patients with a weakened heart, either secondary to coronary artery disease or prior heart attack or from a virus, the patient is at increased risk of a life threatening, rapid heart rhythm disturbance called ventricular tachycardia (VT) or ventricular fibrillation (VF).
First, we clinically diagnose exactly what your symptoms are and how to intelligently move forward to eliminate the causes of your problems. Shortness of breath, chronic fatigue, or anxiety are often manifestations of arrhythmia. Sometimes, a simple examination, including an electrocardiogram will be enough to suggest what to do next.
The heart, as you know, is a type of organic machine. It draws blood (which carries nutrients and oxygen) from the lungs, to the body, and having delivered it's load of sustenance, brings it back to the lungs, to once again reinvigorate and redeliver it's precious cargo. What you may not know, is that in addition to being this incredible "blood pump", the heart is controlled by electrical pulses. And that's where we come into your life picture. We have been practicing this established corridor of medicine for over 20 years.
