Ankle-brachial index test is a comparison of your blood pressure measured at an ankle and your blood pressure measured at an arm, which can indicate blockage of blood flow to the legs. An echocardiogram uses sound waves to produce images of your heart. This commonly used test allows your doctor to see how your heart is beating and pumping blood.
Left heart catheterization is the passage of a thin flexible tube (catheter) into the left side of the heart. It is done to diagnose or treat certain heart problems. You may be given a mild medicine (sedative) before the procedure starts to help you relax. The health care provider will place an IV into your arm so that you can get medicine during the procedure. The catheter is then moved through the aortic valve into the left side of your heart. The pressure is measured in the heart in this position.
If you have questions about common cardiac terms, we highly recommend the American Heart Association A-Z guide for heart disease and stroke victims. This glossary will provide a useful reference for patients and their families. Emergency calls can be avoided with foresight. Treatment of a condition before it becomes an emergency is the surest way to better health and few hospitalizations. It is always best to call your regular physician before going to the Emergency Room, since many hospital visits can be avoided.

I don't know about their care. I called for 2 months after a referral from the emergency department. I got two returned calls from the same lady but could never make contact when calling back. I filled out their online appointment request form at least a dozen times. I uploaded my insurance information and past medical history. All that was left was for me to verify my own insurance information. Geez I went to cardiology practice who answered their phones. Hire more front office staff. Clearly the automated appointment requester and front staff are not enough.

This review is based on their phone prompting system only. It is extremely lengthy and very difficult to get a live person on the phone. There are 11.yes 11 prompts before you get through their menu. If you don't have high blood pressure when you call, you might before you can get to anyone! Often, even when you get through the prompts, you will receive another message that indicates the request was not recognized and to call again. It's a simple fix.pay someone to answer the phone.
