Our private concierge medical practice aims to provide our patients with the attention, advocacy and advice they need. We create a personal environment in an impersonal system. Dr. Costa is personally available to you for direct communication and thorough, personalized medical visits to help with all of your medical care and inquiries about internal medicine.
Here at our concierge medicine practice, our medical philosophy is to provide proactive and personalized care made convenient and accessible to patients. We aim to be thoughtful and conscientious in helping you achieve your health care goals. We focus our clinical efforts on patient education, prevention, early detection and effective treatment.
Our Wellness Program aims to proactively address the health of the whole person, focusing on specific and simple lifestyle changes to help you achieve and maintain a higher level of health. Preventing disease is more effective than trying to cure it, and our Wellness Program offers you the tools to keep you on the path of health.
As a former doctor of Mass General's Executive Health Services, Dr. Costa knows what's important for a busy executive. Whether it is helping you navigate the healthcare system to have rapid access to a specialist or conducting a comprehensive physical exam, we couple excellent care with close, confidential, personal attention.

My husband and I have been clients of Dr Costa's for many years and they have been wonderful to myself and my whole family. His whole staff including his wife and associate Marilyn have been very helpful and knowledgeable. Now my 21 year old son is a patient of this practice. They are able to quickly get patients appointments with other specialist and have excellent referrals. Their follow up and overall care is excellent. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a concierge doctor.

I've always dreamed about having a doctor like Dr. Costa; however, I didn't think a doctor like Dr. Costa actually existed. Honestly, this is what medicine should be like: He and Nurse Chown are marvelous. No other doctor has ever made me feel like I'm their only patient. I actually didn't even think that was possible. I've been to a number of different doctors as I have moved around a lot and I honestly don't think there is another doctor as wonderful as Dr. Costa.
I was very ill recently with probable COVID. Dr. Costa helped me get to the best ER in my vicinity and not only did he check up on me frequently that evening (even late into the night), but he communicated with me daily until I was well out of the woods. Dr. Costa is brilliant, thorough, empathic, compassionate, a great listener, and a caring professional.
He remembers you. He is so thorough that he will not miss anything. He takes the time to listen to you. however long that is and when he talks to you about what is going on with you and your treatment, he explains everything thoroughly. And best of all, he is consistently current on all of the latest medical research. When I get lab results back from him, they are annotated with explanations and recommendations.
He is always available if you need him that very day. That is all to say that Dr. Costa is an incredible human being with a passion and drive to help his patients not only when they are sick, but to take proactive steps to help them flourish. I am convinced I will never find another doctor like him. Don't get me wrong, I've had some excellent doctors in my time but it's not hyperbole to say that Dr. Costa is in a league all his own.
In addition to Dr. Costa, Nurse Chown is the very same way. She is compassionate, empathic, understanding, thorough, a great listener, and well-versed in the latest medical research. I don't particularly like getting my blood drawn, but when Nurse Chown does it, I barely notice; it's less about her technique and more about the fact that she's such a warm and caring person that you forget a needle is going into your arm.
Her advice and suggestions are all grounded in research and in your case history: yes, she remembers you like you are her only patient. I've learned so much from her. there doesn't seem to be a medical topic that she doesn't know a great deal about, and she shares that knowledge with her patients. Again, I've had great nurses in my time, but like Dr. Costa, Nurse Chown is in a league all her own. Overall, the practice engages in remarkable follow through.
If you call and for some reason you get voicemail, you get called back right away. If you email Dr. Costa or Nurse Chown, you get a response quickly. If I need to talk to either of them, they will make time to do it that day. This level of attentiveness to patients is unheard of. If you are supposed to get test results back and they are delayed, they will contact you (not the other way around) and let you know.
I can't say enough good things about them both; however, the bottom line is this: I know that I have the best medical team that will keep me healthy and happy for many years to come. I am no longer anxious about aging and getting sick with Dr. Costa and Nurse Chown on my side, I know I will receive the best medical care possible. If you are looking for a medical practice that goes above and beyond, this is the place for you!

I have been a patient of Dr. Mark Costa, Enhanced Medical Care, for 13 years. Dr. Costa is an outstanding, skilled diagnostician with a caring, attentive manner. Exactly the qualities that one wants in a Primary Care Physician. Marilyn Chown, R.N., B.S.N., M.P.H. and the doctor's wife, efficiently manages the practice with warmth and knowledge.
