I walked in today to the Fairwood plaza in Renton Location Kosnoski Eye Care 14270 SE 176th St # J1, Renton, WA 98058, and they kicked me out saying I don't have a mask. I told them that I don't have one. I also asked them if they can provide one so I can schedule an appointment for my daughter. They say no masks are available if you don't have an appointment already.
I asked to speak with the manager and the front desk personnel presented herself as the manager. I'm very frustrated with the way I was treated and for the voice tone, I was kicked out of the clinic. VERRY disappointed. I hope Dr. Kosnoski sees this review and takes necesary actions. Just so you know, I didn't refuse to were a mask, I just didn't have one and they told me no masks for walk ins.

I have worn Costco Kirkland brand contacts for the last 5 years. In order to continue ordering them, I needed a prescription for Cooper Vision contact lenses since they are the Kirkland equivalent. Kosinski Eye Care has Cooper Vision lenses listed on their website for sale. As soon as Dr. Shailka Dawar heard I was ordering my lenses from Costco, she said she wouldn't write the prescription.
I had the lenses with me and showed her the packaging. She said they weren't her brand. She wanted me to purchase a more expensive brand from Kosinski and sent me home with a week of trial lenses and no prescription. The lenses were not a good fit for me. I understand there are issues with fitting the lens, but I had brought them with me intentionally so she could see the fitting.
I don't understand why she wouldn't write the prescription unless it's based on her losing a sale to Costco. I also have cataracts and she said she couldn't find them. I'm out $90 and an eye exam covered by my insurance that I'm not confident in. In the end, I won't ever go back to Kosinski Eye Care. I'm going to Costco Optical tomorrow. Negative reviews aren't my thing, but others should really know to avoid this business.

This was the worst experience I have ever had getting a pair of glasses. Exam went fine. I really just needed glasses since my only pair had broken. Took almost three months to finally get a pair that the lens wasn't going to pop out of. The person ordering glasses was not helpful at all. When mine finally got there, they didn't fit exactly right.
She took them off and just bent at them without heating the arm. They hurt the back of my ears bad. I guess I will go somewhere else to ask them to adjust. When I called to get updates, they were rude and condescending, saying things like, " like I said, it's not our fault." Unacceptable to wait that long for glasses. I will never go back and do not recommend.

Totally disappointed with this outfit. Doctor was pofessional, but billing folks are crooks. Got an eye exam a year ago and did not order contacts through this office at that time. Called back 12 and a half months later to order contacts and was told I needed another eye exam as my prescription had expired. My paper prescription had a 2 year expiration but contact prescription was only for a year.
Now that i need contacts, i have to get another eye exam in order to refill. Nothing stated a year earlier and paper prescription is only good for glasses. Very misleading to say the least. And to top it all off, they tell me that if I would have asked to be charged an additional 65.00 for a two year prescription, I would not be out of pocket for all of this now.
Common people dont know all the ins and outs of insurance. But these people do and they use it to thier advantage. Learn from my experience and go somewhere else for your eye exam, and lenses.

The doctor and the women who does the various eye examination were marvelous, and extremely professional. The reason for the low rating is concerning the receptionists and the person who fills out the paper to order you glasses are very passive aggressive and condescending, one was even taking a personal call and spoke very load. When my mom went who speaks English as her second language they were not patient and she felt miss-treated.

Stay away from here, stay away, stay away from this place. They're fraudulent and unkind. Very unprofessional, and all they're after is your money. They look for ways to double-bill your insurance. Many illegal activities. Please don't do any business with this provider at all. I would rate it a zero star if could. Run, run, run!

I walked in and the people behind the desk didn't even acknowledge I was there. Then one of the people behind the desk asked me for my insurance. As I was looking for the insurance card she made a comment "or you dont have insurance". No "hi" or "how are you" I have never been to a place were people were so rude. You are not getting my $$. Bye! Have a good day.

Kosnoski eye care was recommended and I am so glad I went! I loved everything about this office. The staff was really friendly. The doctor was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer my questions and concerns. When it came time to pick my glasses the lady who helped me was so accommodating - she worked with me to find the right fit and look and also made sure to let me know what my insurance covered vs. not. It was an all-around wonderful experience!

I liked going here when it was Dr. Locascio's place. I do not like it anymore now. The energy is stale AF. The customer service is so bad. Why are you acting so mad at your patients? Why am I not being treated with compassion? If the work is that stressful, please give your front desk people some assistance by either streamlining the workload or by hiring people who can handle the job!

Hanna was extremely helpful and friendly. From the moment I walked in. I asked her to double check that they take my insurance (VSP - they do), helpful me for probably 30 minute picking out some glasses I told her I'd be back in 2 days when I got paid to purchase them. I came back and ended up searching for a different pair because I wasn't 100% on the pie I originally picked out.
She was helpful the whole time. I had a great experience with the lady at the front desk as well. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to pay half up front and then pay the rest when I got the glasses.

We've been patients for 12 years. The new policy instituted by Dr. Kosnoski as of January 2018 - either you consent to having your eyes dilated or you consent to retinal screening. Zero option to opt out, choose one or both. As a former medical professional I like the freedom of choice. And I don't take kindly to having options removed from me. Also Dr. Kosnoski has been trying to force cataract surgery on me for 8 years.
Sure he would, it's a big money maker. News flash, I see fine, day and night, colors are vibrant and my vision can still be corrected to 20/20. Kosnoski himself is an acquired taste - funny but also abrupt and a control freak. Visit at your own risk. Also the front desk experience is a mixed bag since two long term employees left a few years ago. Check the reviews, it's not just mine that sucks.

I highly recommend Kosinski Eye Care in Federal Way. The staff is very friendly, professional, and competent. They work with your insurance provider and explain all charges. They offer an alternative to having your eyes dilated, which costs extra, but it's worth it not having to wait for drops to work, and then wait again for your vision to be restored.
The exam with the doctor is very thorough and interesting as she explains everything in detail. Gayle is very helpful when it comes to choosing frames. She's very patient with indecision (lol!) If you're looking for eye care with a personal touch this is your office!

Terrible customer service. I have been a patient for about 8 years; previously w/ Dr. Locasio and then stayed with Kosnoski until today. My mail-order contacts hit a snag and were delayed. I called for a sample of my contacts so I could make it until my order arrived in a few days. I was told that although they had samples available, they were unable to give me any because I had not made this purchase through them.
I explained that I have terrible vision and can't go without contacts, that I am a long time patient and not only myself but my husband and two sons are patients. We come every year and max out what our insurance will pay with our initial order and order through Kosnoski; so even though this order wasn't purchased through them, not only had I purchased through them originally this year, my husband had as well.
I asked if a manager could maybe help and I was told that it was policy and no exception would be made. I then asked if I purchased one pack right now, would they be willing to give me a sample and they said absolutely. I was stunned but obviously I needed help so I purchased one box and sure enough, they gave me samples. They made a $40 sale. I hope it was worth it because they will no longer have us as patients.
Do the math. office visit x4, contacts for 2 and glasses for 1 every year. Not to mention, any time we've had an eye problem, we'd visit and they would bill our health insurance; which happened at least 3 times in the last year. Enjoy the $40. It will be the last you get from this family.

I found the employees to be friendly and helpful. The preexam was quick and to the point and I did not have to wait overly long to see the doctor. The doctor was informative without drawing the process out overly long. I found her bedside manner to be comforting and professional. I will continue as a customer. One small caveat, the eyeglass selection is a little sparse (though I had no trouble finding a few good candidates).

I can't believe no one mentioned how incredibly rude the front desk receptionist lady is. She makes it so blatant obviously she's miserable at her job and fills the whole room with a sour atmosphere. I have family members that stopped going here because they couldn't stand her attitude. I'm literally in utter shock she still has her job.

I've been going to Dr. Jack for quite a while now. He's had some staffing issues earlier but the current crew seems competent. I enjoy working with Kathy as she seems to keep the office running well. Dr. Jack is very competent and very efficient in determining your prescription. I've been happy overall.

My wife and I have been seeing Dr. Locascio and his staff for over a decade and have always been very happy with their thoroughness, politeness and dedication to their patients. The office seems to have the latest and greatest in technology every time we visit. Dr. Locasio takes a great deal of pride in his knowledge of optometry and is always willing to share it. His assessments are always highly detailed, informative, educational and easy to understand. We will continue to trust him with our eyes.

I've used Dr. Locascio since I was in 2nd grade. He is an excellent Doctor, who truly cares for his patients. He is active in his community outside of his job, and always remembers the small details about my life, which makes me feel special. I now live in North Tacoma, but I still make the trip to Federal Way any time I need help with my eyes/contacts.
