I like to personally thank my ER Nurse Nick who attended me in Mount Sinai Miami Beach 6/08/22. He made me feel heard and understood about what I was feeling in my body. He also comforted my husband and I from what we were sure was going to be emergency surgery on my appendix. Luckily, it was not the case but because of him I felt safe and calm about my situation.

The doctors was kind and very straight forward as well. I highly recommend to friends and family. I was seen immediately, constantly checked up on and made aware of possible options/outcomes/decisions regularly by my doctors both the ER doctor and surgeon. Again, thank you, Nurse Nick!

I think I'm being really generous by giving 4-stars for this review. I've had a very positive experience here for a prior surgery. However regarding a more recent emergency I had I would give 1 star if I could, but that wouldn't be fair to all the staff that attended to me. Nurse Noemi, Jessica, RO, Julian and Julia were by far should be the ones leading the entire ICU and Step-Down Units.

They were so patient, understanding and most of all caring to the pain I was in. On the other hand, in ICU, there was only 1 nurse and 1 doctor that who made this experience the worst and probably a traumatic experience for me. For that reason, I'll most likely be seeking legal counsel for patient neglect.

My husband's grandmother was admitted to this hospital after midnight. Nobody was allowed to be with her until 10:00 a.m. I called this morning to just know how she's doing. The lady who took my call was speaking very fast and rude, she told me that they were switching shifts, that nobody was able to take my call. I just called a few minutes ago, the same lady with a rude tone of voice told me that the nurse was in a meeting and that no one could take my call.

She suggested me to drive over there to see her and check by myself. My husband is on his way over there but we just wanted to know about her before getting there. This is not the hospital to take any of my relatives or myself. Sad reality.

Don't come here if you're expecting quick service. Even if the ER looks empty you will have to wait long hours. They will just forget about you. As a pregnant woman, I still ended up waiting 6 hours with excruciating pain, only to be told I need to go home and take more Tylenol. When I first arrived the female doctor there dismissed my pain immediately, before reading any of my health history, that shows I have fibroids.

After all the tests, the nurses said I will see the doctor to discuss the results. The nurse that did my ultrasound said she didn't know how to interpret the scans, and that I needed to wait for the doctor to speak to me. I had no idea what the ultrasound results meant. I waited several more hours. Instead, the doctor chose to unprofessionally chat with staff while I suffered in the room right in front of her.

The doctor never spoke to me about the results, or the pain, or any of my concerns. I never spoke to her at all after that. You will be given a bunch of Wikipedia papers by the nurses, and then sent home. I don't even know if this is legal. I've never had this happen at a hospital before. They even gave me the wrong patient discharge paper, I have some random mans name on mine.

So unorganized. The staff and nurses are all kind and incredible. The doctor just doesn't care at all. Please I beg you to go somewhere else if you want to see a doctor. My symptoms continue with no resolution and if it gets worse, I'm definitely NOT going back to that hospital.

Phenomenal place. I have had the pleasure of sending several private concierge patients to the ER for COVID monoclonal antibody treatments. All the employees at Mt Sinai are true professionals! Thank you to all the wonderful wealthy families who donated to Mount Sinai to make it a premier center of excellence!

My name is Mayra Garcia And I gave birth in this hospital on March 14 2022 at 2:34am. Thankfully the birthing experience in labor and delivery was excellent as well as the care I received with my OBGYN group. However my experience after arriving on the mother baby floor was traumatic to say the least. The protocols dictated by the baby friendly initiative put my baby's life at risk, abused my mental health, and violated my rights as a patient to choose the best course of action for myself and my baby.

It was specifically traumatic as it relates to my breast feeding journey as a first time mom. After giving birth to my daughter I was, as expected, incredibly fatigued. I did my very best to breastfeed as recommended by the nursing staff and lactation consultant however the amount of colostrum I was producing was not enough. It would have been difficult to tell my baby was hungry though since my baby was very quiet and did not demonstrate the expected hunger cues.

The nurses kept pushing me to breast feed without giving me any proper guidance or support. The lactation consultant appeared rushed and taught me two breastfeeding positions but not once did anyone recommend a pump so that my milk could come in. I was also not offered supplementation as an option. Looking back I realize how unfair all of this was since I had verbalized feeling weak and asked if there was an alternative option.

I was told there was none and that I had to keep breast feeding more. Unbeknownst to me at the time the fatigue was due to me having COVID (I tested positive on March 17). When I discharged on the 15th my baby lost some weight and her Billy was high. At this time the staff expressed it was not alarming. The next day on March 16 she dropped more than 10 percent of her weight, she was dehydrated, and her Billy was elevated at a borderline dangerous level.

It was the scariest thing I have ever experienced in my life. The pediatrician at that point recommended I supplement and it saved my baby's life. I am still angered by this experience on the mother baby floor. I am angry that I starved my baby because I was misguided by the hospital staff. I am angry that the hospital Staff used my mom guilt to force me into breast feeding more frequently when my body simply couldn't.

I am angry that I wasn't provided the option to supplement while in the hospital. I am still angry that the outpatient pediatricians continue to push the breast feeding agenda when the literature doesn't significantly pinpoint long term benefits. I am still angry that the outpatient pediatricians continue to push the breast feeding agenda after letting them know that it triggered my postpartum depression.

My anger has prompted me to write to you. To tell you that having a baby friendly designation is meaningless and ineffective when the institution can't provide the right support and resources for mothers. As a healthcare worker I know that when initiatives like this are started the staff normally go through the motions to check requirements off a list to then go home at the end of the day.

Not because they don't want to or care but because they have a lot on their plate. On paper it may look one way but the reality can actually be really damaging to the patient. I ask that you revise these protocols especially regarding formula supplementation. I am Also making you aware of the possibility of your numbers not reflecting reality. I understand that being a baby friendly designated hospital is important to the hospital, however, you have no idea how many women share my story.

How many women and babies have been harmed by these policies. In the end this experience turned me off to breast feeding. I am now exclusively formula feeding and I am so much happier with this choice. I wish I had known this was a choice much sooner. I hope this never happens to anyone else again.

Extremely nasty service at the front of the surgical tower. "Susan" extremely dirty. Picking her nose, biting her nails, and continuously keeping her fingers in her mouth. I would expect a more hygienic receptionist from such a high end hospital. Disappointing.

I had my first baby at Mount Sinai and couldn't have had a better experience! Everyone is so caring, present, knowledgeable and friendly that makes you feel loved and cared for. Thank you to all nurses, doctors, security staff, kitchen staff that made my experience and Nina's so great!

The service is a joke. You have 10 people seeing you including the house keeper asking you what is the level of the pain from 1 to 10. They don't communicate each other. Bunch of Parrots! I have been waiting 36 hours waiting for a Ecography. I had to stay one night in a small bed. I could not sleep since I'm 6 Ft 2. White night. Then they asked me to stay another night in the basement with people screening all the time because they are busy.

No food no water no shower no brushing teeth. They treat you like garbage even with an insurance. I had to leave. It's a joke. And they ll charge me 5k for to 10k. I hate this system! They are just care to make more money. They don't care about people. They are just parrots

This place used to be great. Don't know what happened. I keep reading the staff are rude-I would be too if I got paid as little as they do. Other hospitals pay more. I would be frustrated. I have a friend whose daughter works there(not a doctor or nurse) and her pay is significantly lower than her friends with the same job at Baptist and Jackson. MSMC doesn't appreciate it take care of their employees. So don't blame the staff. Blame the CEO and the board. They have a high turn over rate for a reason.
