Seems like the goal is NOT to talk to patients in person, or to see patients that might be sick. The website is sending us to mass.gov to get free care for covid symptoms. Schedule online, impossible to talk to our doctor, basically do not call the office. They don't want our sickness inside. Forced to use a patient portal that barely works.

Impossible to get a nurse on the phone. If you choose to leave a message, they may or may not get back to you. One time they called me back 36 hours later. Doctor missed appointment- they tried to tell me I went to the wrong location. I showed them in my app that they were in fact wrong. They didn't care. Sent doctor an urgent message using the app which they encourage you to use for communication- doctor simply never replied to my message.
It has been 18 days and I still have not received a response. Lab said to have results available same day- doesn't happen. Currently on hold for 36 minutes. When I called in, the recording told me that there were 6 calls ahead of me. Seems like they have only one nurse fielding calls. This practice is a joke.

I have been a patient for a few months; my son has been for a little over a year since his birth. I am thrilled that one of the nurses at Emerson suggested this place since her own children are patients there. My son has received wonderful care. I feel the same for myself. Both of the nurse practitioners I have seen lately, along with the social workers are fantastic. It's rare that I leave a medical appointment feeling great and like I was heard, but that's how I feel about Acton Medical. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone.

Extremely rude and unprofessional. Tried to call in to make an appointment. Got berated on the phone by the receptionist that I haven't been there for over a year, that they don't have any appointments for the next 4 months, and it's all my fault. Mind you, at this point I'm just asking about the schedule and being very respectful and patient. I can't say it's been pleasant with medical staff here as well. They don't seem to listen to any concerns, and literally get less than 2 mins with them before they tell you they have other patients to attend to. Overall, very terrible.

Several improvements since I wrote this review. New alternatives to the phone logjam. Up to 4 stars now. I have found both my primary physician and the other clinical staff I've seen (infectious disease specialist and a couple of physician's assistants) to be excellent. Their phone system as well as follow-through on phone calls, however, is simply awful.
For most things you need to speak with a nurse, and since Covid began, every call to the nurses' line requires 45 minutes or more on hold. The phone tree is incredibly complex, and when you do speak with someone, they likely are going to transfer you to another branch of the phone tree, and then about half the time you end up transferred to the wrong place.
Then you have to call in again, use some trick to speak to a real person without waiting another hour, and beg them to not put you back in the queue. I'm considering changing doctors simply because the communications with the physicians and nurses is so difficult. I've also had intermittent but significant problems with follow through on visits and phone calls-- scrips sent to the wrong pharmacy, faxes to other medical offices not going through because they were sent to the wrong number, etc. A great practice medically, but it needs a complete top-to-bottom administrative revamp.

Disappointed in their service. I tried to become a patient and registered both myself and my husband on their website. I was able to successfully schedule 2 physicals and so I changed our PCP with our insurance. I got a call back from the registration department, whom I had called prior to finding the online tool, only to be told the online scheduling option doesn't actually work and didn't register us.
Not only that, the PCP listed online as accepting new patients is NOT actually accepting new patients. Will not be going here as first impression is that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

Neglectful care and incompetent medical team. Board of Licensure will likely be investigating soon. Avoid them at all costs. Had orders for imaging tests that were sent listing the wrong body party. Providers are unaware of certain conditions. You will frequently be left waiting in the exam room for over a half hour. If you call, you will be on hold for at least an hour.

As much as I like the knowledge, expertise and dedication of Dr. Cooper, I have to review the office as a whole. I have had issues with Acton medical in the past, but always let go, but this time I want others to know before choosing any doctor part of this group to be your provider. When you most need your doctor's office to help you is when you know how much they care for you as their patient.
My son got a football injury after 7 months of surgery, which dislocated his shoulder again. The surgeon requested an urgent MRI, and that needed a referral and insurance approval. I called Acton Medical to request the referral and was told they could NOT do anything to expedite the process. Ryan (the person in charge of referrals) was as cold and repetitive as could be, to say "there is nothing I can do, we have to wait for doctor to see the request and approve first." I explain the situation and begged for an urgent approach to this case, Ryan had the same answer "No, there is nothing we can do. It will take two to three weeks." I know that is the culture at AMA, nothing beyond the basics is expected from that place. Great doctor, poor service. Time to move on.

After four years I am done. This office is a temple of inefficiency. It took three visits and 5 months to get results of a physical from a nurse. They had to mail it. Their IT told me their online system just doesn't work for me. No other explanation. I bet good money they have no idea how many of their patients can't use their portal. They care about the systems that collect money.
They never do obvious things that could make the patient experience efficient. As a guy who has run factories nothing kills my blood pressure like watching these clowns waste my time and money. I'm sure the Dr.s are fine. But I have questions about my physical. I just don't dare ask you guys. It might take another 3 months to figure out why my report has so much generic and bad advice.
