I have had multiple bad experiences over the years but today really topped it off. I was in there for a routine physical and asked to be tested for a UTI, which I get frequent UTIs, so I am 99 percent sure I have one. They told me I have to come back for another appointment because it is not covered in a physical. I walked out and will never go back. Office is also pretty dirty and run down but I always tried to look past that.

I have been a patient since 2007. Without exception, I have been treated superbly by all the staff. They are caring, knowledgeable, communicative, and most of all, the follow-up is prompt. Dr. Repphun follows both my wife and me and does a superb job of listening and is diligent with following up. She also has a calming presence which gives me great confidence.
I do miss the former office manager, Lacy. She is such a bright light. The facility could also use a little bit of modernizing. Other than that, Tumwater is very fortunate to have this clinic and Dr. Repphun-she has even called us after hours and on weekends to discuss care!

I just found out our entire family has been discharged after about 20 years with TFPC for a missed $20 co pay. My daughter is double covered by my husband and my own insurance. I was in there in January, no indication of any issues. When they send any notification through the patient portal I have always responded within minutes. I told my doctor I was living with my mother as she was receiving hospice care in her home for stage 4 cancer.
They said they texted my husband but would not have contacted me or have anything on my chart regarding the past due co pay as I am not the parent who signed her original paperwork, they did her well baby checkup in the hospital when she was born, so maybe I was busy being sewn up from the c section at the time? Anyways, is it completely unreasonable to think they would contact me prior to discharging me and leaving our family without access to a doctor.
The last portal email I have from them is confirming my appointment for next year. The only possible way they would take me back is if I divorce my husband.although he only has 7 days of his blood pressure medicine left.so maybe they thought they would kill him off prior instead?!? 2 of the doctors are quitting this year per their Facebook page. I don't blame them, I wouldn't want to work for such a heartless organization either.
It seems remaining members solution is to drop as many clients as possible? Spent the last two days on the phone trying to wrap my head around them abandoning my children, especially with one who has a pretty extensive medical history.again the only solution was to break up our family if my daughter and I want to remain with the PA that she has built a relationship with.
Per 2 people that I spoke to, they have no plans of changing their procedure to attempt to contact an individual prior to discharging them, and the decision to discharge patients is up clerical/billing staff without review from physicians. Now that I'm looking at other reviews, it appears this clinic regularly abandons patients in an unethical manner.

The worst customer service ever received by this provider. We were told to to park on a fence line and that someone would come out to our car to see us. This was for a scheduled Dr apt. Finally a gal shows up with swab to do a Covid test. She didn't communicate who she was. We told her we made apt for Strep test. She left then came back with 2 swabs and took Strep and Covid sample and left and we still had no idea who she was.
We didn't see anyone before or after that. An hour later we called the receptionist and she said the provider was done with us and had called in a prescription. We didn't know we saw a provider or the test results or what prescription was for so the receptionist said she would have a nurse come out to see us in our car to review. We waited another 30 minutes and finally left without seeing the nurse.
We went to pharmacy and there was a prescription for an antibiotic. I then kept trying to get someone on the phone from Tumwater Family Practice that could confirm my son had Strep, assuming that was what the prescription was for. Finally, several hours later, I was able to speak to a nurse who said he had tested positive for Covid and he was negative for Strep.
I asked why was he given antibiotics and she said she didn't know but don't give them to him. We then received a bill for $430.00 and $270.00 of it was for the Covid test. Our insurance will cover it but that is beside the point. We have been patients of theirs for many years but we will never go back.

Doctors act like you are an inconvenience to them while you are there. Also when you are explaining your concern to them they basically have one foot out the door. Also billing decides they want to call you way after your exam to collect co pays and ask for more money without giving an explanation of your charges. 10/10 would not recommended lol

I am still a patient here and currently see Jennifer Casler, PA-C. She is AAAAMMMAAAZZZING and is one of the nicest people I have met. She truly cares about her patients and takes the time to address their needs. She is very thorough, Intelligent, kind, and is the best primary care I have ever had. Anyone who receives care from her is in great hands.
I was seen here as a new patient and had a great experience. Robin did my intial intake and she was wonderful. She is very professional, efficient and knows how to make patients feel comfortable and relaxed. My provider was Smantha Garside, PA. Samantha did a thorough health history, and made sure all my concerns were addressed and answered. She has a very warm and kind demeanor, is direct, and knowledgeable. I am very pleased with the efficient and thorough care I received.

Tumwater family is not the place to go for medical attention! They turn away patients. You have a set appointment and you wait for over an hour and they expect you to be ok with this but if your late they want to you or they give you a dismissal from their office! Over 20 years a patient. I'll be seeking medical attention elswhere!

Today I had a terrible experience with PA Bonnie Joy. By scanning the reviews I see that my experience is not unique. I'm generally an easy going person, and I don't leave negative reviews often, but today I have compelling reasons for doing so. I've been fatigued for months and went to the office today, hoping for a blood panel to rule out any obvious causes. Bonnie spent less than one minute discussing my symptoms with me before determining that I'm not getting enough sleep, and that I would need to keep a sleep journal for at least week before she would order any tests. Seriously?
I took time off work for this appointment to be "prescribed" a sleep journal? When I respectfully explained that I didn't find her advice helpful, and that I felt a blood panel was appropriate, she became argumentative and defensive. She explained that "she's the expert" and that "she's not going to hunt for diseases before I improve my sleep." I hadn't asked her to hunt for diseases, and I know from past experience that blood panels are done regularly to review overall health.
At one point she even read her notes back to me: "Patient says he is not sleeping great, only getting around 6.5 hours each night, " as if we were in a courtroom and she was consulting the official record as justification of her diagnosis. If you want a provider who asks leading questions and selectively listens to confirm her preconceived notions, by all means go see Bonnie Joy. However, if you seek a provider who shows genuine curiosity, listens well, and has a collaborative approach, I suggest you look elsewhere.
I won't be back to Tumwater Family Practice. I've already wasted too much of my life on the phone, waiting to speak to a human being to schedule appointments. I wish I had switched sooner, but I guess today was the final push I needed.
