It is very gratifying to use the tools available to us to help someone who is suffering and bring them back to good health. Having other highly skilled hands on complex cases is a huge benefit of our practice. We work closely together, and are always consulting with each other. Our approach is very analytical, which makes us great problem solvers.
The Vascular Surgeons at Surgical Associates understand that high quality, detailed studies are a key component of quality surgical outcomes. Recognizing that not all technology or the technologists that perform them are created equal, they established the Olympic Vascular Lab in 2005, staffed it with specially trained Registered Vascular Technologists (RVTs), and provide them with cutting edge ultrasound technology.

Dr. Krug is very knowledgeable he knows what he's doing. I like the way he explained the procedure you can truly understand. If you need a good surgeon I would recommend him.

Dr Griffith is such a nice person. I just feel like I slipped through the cracks too many times to feel that he is reliable. I had a hernia operation. I never heard from the doctor or his office. I was then told that the stitches would dissolve. Two of them did not I ended up taking them out myself. Then my incision got infected. I called they said to watch it.

I already knew that it was infected. Called Monday to get an appointment. Waited for an hour in the waiting room. He comes in looks at it says it's infected I say yes it is. He then says I'll be right back that he's going to go talk to his assistant. He never comes back. I go out to the front desk tell them what happened they say they'll give you a call.

Get the call and the person who is scheduling me just says "crap. crap crap. crap. ohhhh. crap. crap ohhhhh ohhhh crap. " and over again. I ask her she's alright. She says oh yes I'm just trying to get you scheduled. he is booked out 3 weeks. She was overwhelmed and unprofessional as a result. There seems to be only one doctor working at a time.

The waiting room is always backed up. People without masks on. This is not the kind of practice that I would recommend. Again he's very nice everyone at his facility is a very nice I just feel like they need to do better.

Rebecca A. Freeman "performed" my hernia surgery in March of 2020 and a year later I am still suffering pain on a daily basis as a result - I wasn't in any pain before. Hands down this was the worst medical experience of my life.

Although some may have had good experiences, that was not the case for my father. He was in advanced stages of dementia so I made sure the paperwork was filled out completely, and submitted in advance for his appointment. However, when he and the aide from the nursing home arrived, they were grilled about paperwork. I arrived very quickly after they did so I was able to intervene.

On every form, I had written boldly, DEMENTIA PATIENT so they would know to ask questions of me (Medical Power of Attorney) or the aide. He was wheelchair bound, requiring assistance of the aide and myself. We had to wait over an hour past his appointment time to get back into the exam room. Once there, the doctor proceeded to ignore me and the aide and attempted to get information from the patient who was in the final stages of dementia and in no shape to answer.

The doctor stated he had good blood flow to his feet, which he just guessed at because he did no tests and was repeatedly told the patient has PAD (Peripheral Arterial Disease) and has very poor blood flow to his feet. Additionally, the doctor made the statement that he had to have gotten the wounds on his feet from walking or his shoes; however, he hadn't walked for months, he was wheelchair bound, and he didn't wear shoes, only socks.

After the appointment, the nursing facility had another ABI (test to determine blood flow) done and it was worse than he previous tests. He still had PAD and his blood flow was indeed very poor, not good like the doctor had stated. Overall, I was very disappointment in his treatment. I originally had high hopes for the appointment as I had been seen myself by a different doctor. But after this visit, I will not return.

My partner, Marc, and I had an absolutely wonderful experience with the Surgical Associates team this weekend. Marc went in to the ER at Providence Friday morning with appendicitis and had surgery that afternoon. Dr. Freeman checked him out, Dr. Griffith performed the surgery, and Dr. Krug checked him out on Sunday. All three were positively wonderful to interact with and very sensitive to Marc's hospital anxiety.

I particularly loved Dr. Griffith's warm approach of sitting on the bed with Marc when talking to him - his demeanor was so soft and comforting. And of course, the surgery was successful! It was very cool to see Surgical Associates on their lab coats, too. I work in nonprofit sector and have known Dr. Robinson for a couple years and only heard good things about him and the Surgical Associates team. Now I have experienced it first hand! It is so warming to know we are in good hands should anything happen.

4 out of 5. I was referred to this office to get a migrated Implanon removed from my arm. I got a call within a week to schedule my consult. The intake MA was very nice and thorough and made me feel comfortable. Dr was professional and to the point (which I appreciate). Be prepared to wait for procedure scheduling if you want it same day. Otherwise leave a message for callback. The procedure itself went flawlessly. I felt comfortable and well cared for. Will come again should I need a surgical procedure done.

I was recently referred to this practice but haven't seen the doctor yet. I called to inquire about availability and coverage. I was given the run around by the lady who took my call. She was unable to give me a realistic time frame and left me with more questions than when I started. I called back a couple days later and talked to ROSE. She was amazing!

She clearly explained the referral process and a realistic amount of time necessary to get into see a specialist. She patiently went over the details and other information needed to get my appointment request processed efficiently. I was quite upset when I called back and Rose was able to reassure me that Surgical Associates cared about me and would do their best to help me in a professional manner.

I'm a former patient of Dr. Griffith's (HE IS WONDERFUL), he took my gal bladder out in October of 2010 on an urgent basis same day when I went to the ER. Fast forward to now I have a new surgical issue and was referred from my provider in May 2017 to Surgical Associate's at my request. Surprised I got no calls, no nothing. Then at the end of July I got a call from my referring provider's office telling me that surgical associates office was claiming they had been trying to reach me and couldn't.

They had not try to call me once. I verified that they had the correct 2 numbers to call on the referral and was told they were accurate. I then called Surgical Associates myself and it took FOREVER to get a receptionist to actually take the call (they just answer and immediately place you on hold for over 4 min before returning), then they transferred me to their referral coordinator where I had to leave a message.

The referral coordinator's outgoing welcome message CLEARLY indicates that you should receive a return call no later than the following business day. Well.2 messages later and STILL NO CALL! So I called again today and explained my frustration to the receptionist. I even told her I would be happy to go to a different general surgeon if they were too busy to see me and her response was, "if you want to see a different provider group you need to call your referring provider to take care of that". Seriously?

Any other office would have heard that questions and apologized for inconvenience and offered to get a manager on the phone or something.but nope, she of course referred me back to the referral coordinator to, you guessed it.leave ANOTHER message! I did a screenshot of that call to show that from the time I called to the time the receptionist transferred me again to a voicemail black hole that it took 10minutes!

I decided enough is enough and hung up. I immediately called my referring provider's office to get my referral sent elsewhere. I'd rather give my business to another provider group that actual provides customer service and cares about all of their patients.

I must respectfully disagree with the poor review left by a disgruntled patient. My first visit, last June, was related to a blockage in my neck. I was referred to Surgical Associates by my primary physician. Dr. Krug found that I have stenosis in my carotid artery. After a thorough examination and an ultrasound, he determined that a follow-up every six months was the best and most conservative treatment at this time.

The 6 months are up, and with no prompting from me, I received a letter from SA telling me it was time for a checkup. From the first moment I stepped into the office, I was greeted with nothing but a kind, pleasant and organized staff. As far as Dr. Krug goes, he did a thorough exam of my arteries and took the time to very patiently answer all my questions in a way that I could easily understand. I'm sorry that the other patient had a bad experience at SA, but from my perspective, I could not be more pleased with SA, and trust with no reservation that I am receiving top-notch case.

It's been two years since I had surgery on varicose veins at Surgical Associates. Dr. Krug performed my surgery and Kim, who I don't believe works there anymore, administered my conscious sedation medication and did my follow ups. My surgery was a nightmare. I never "fell asleep" like she said I would, and instead of explaining much to me and talking me through the (immense) pain I was feeling, the nurse kept upping my medication and it felt as though she thought I wouldn't remember the procedure.

I fully remember the procedure, how painful it was, and how unhelpful and dismissive Surgical Associates was afterward. My leg was numb and I was in a ton of pain and I had constant adrenaline rushes around the clock after surgery for weeks. I was prescribed a high dose of Lorazepam by the Surgical Associates nurse and shooed out the door. After surgery, I noticed I still had one vein left that didn't get taken care of.

I was told I could have it removed and the cost would just be part of my surgery. The nurse made my apt. and when I came in, they were going to charge me and insane amount of money AGAIN. (After an $11,000 surgery). The nurse had scheduled this apt. 2 days after my "6 weeks" were up, which meant is was not covered, but she wanted to wait that long to see if it disappeared on its own.

I had to get it in writing from Dr. Krug that they would not charge me, and essentially, I was still charged and had to fight them to take away the charges. I never did go back and get the missed vein taken care of. There is NO WAY I would put my body into the hands of that surgical practice again at the time. Today, my leg is still numb and still very painful to the touch. Today, I still take medication for the constant adrenaline rushes that I presume came from the large amount of medication that was given to me, when it was very obviously not working in the first place. I don't recommend this practice based on my experience.

On October 4, I was referred in for a double hernia repair and spoke to Dr. White. She was rude, had no bedside manner and was going to make me wait until the day after thanksgiving for my surgery. Furthermore, when receiving my physical examination, Dr. White clawed at my undies like a drunken prom date, spoke to me with no respect and treated me like I had done something wrong by becoming injured. I would recommend St Clares in Lakewood or St Joes in Tacoma, any day, over the Providence abuse system in Olympia.

I had a pretty terrible experience here. I have waited 8 months from surgery to see if my issues would work themselves out, but they have not. I had varicose vein surgery and even though the meds did not work to put me to sleep, the nurse, Kim, continued to give me more while surgery went on. Afterwards I had sever panic attacks in which she prescribed a high dose of lorazapam without warning me of the possibility of addiction. 8 months and thousands of dollars later, my lower leg is still numb from the surgery, is swollen, tender and is still painful.

I also have more varicose veins now after the surgery popping up than I ever did before. The only good part of any of my visits was the ultra sound tech. He explained more to me than the doctor or nurse ever did.

I went in for hernia repair in 2014. It was the first time I ever had an operation. The Doc and RN's put me at ease( the best they could). They actually bumped me ahead of someone else because of my stress level. They had me in and out very quickly. They are a busy place, so some appointments take awhile and other times I was in and out. It's hard for me to rate the quality of the work, but the surgery, and my reduction in heavy lifting ( per Doc's recommend) have "greatly" reduced my hernia pain. I am going for a another follow up a little over 3 yrs later to make sure I am not doing damage to the repair. I would recommend them.

If you don't mind a company that wastes your money and your time, while scamming money from the insurance companies (KEEPING PREMIUMS HIGH) then this is your place. A few of the people behind the counters could use a little attitude adjustment. The only reason I'm going here is there surgical skills have been recommend. So I'm hoping that the rude, over payment waste of time/money will yield a good surgery.

And just so we all know that I'm not just here to rip apart the money grubbers, the gentleman that does the ultrasound mapping is FANTASTIC, he is very kind, informative and caring. I will try and get his name to post so everyone may get the chance to receive some great service.
